Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project

With school constraints and my desire to actually drive the car, I have decided to postpone my r200 and CV axle setup for the meantime. Once the car is up and running again then I can dedicate some more time to the mr2 rack mockup and the rear setup. I fired up my powdercoat gun last weekend to test...

Productive saturday!

Got my rear crossmember done up today. I was able to use Byron's jig which made it a lot easier. Thanks! :D Here are some pictures... With the crossmember clamped down on the drillpress it actually went very well. Slowest speed with lots of lube and it was good to go. It was a lot easier than I was ...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project - Christmas Updates!!

Those wheels look amazing with the paint color. Good choice Thanks PMK. The graphite on graphite looks better than I expected which is a pleasant surprise. :) Had a bit of a visit with Byron this morning when he dropped off the jig for the rear crossmember. Our visit ended with us slim jiming ole b...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project - Christmas Updates!!

Byron was kind enough to lend me his rear crossmember jig and he's on his way over now so I better get back out there!! Today's teaser... http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac197/kayakdude07/730B8B6A-5872-4399-AB0B-DD46F9AFF190-5217-000003A44F0CA260.jpg http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac197/kayak...

Rear Crossmember & Rear Brakes

Got started on slimming the rear crossmember down in order to put the Datsport brackets on. Spent a good while with a zip cutter, hammer, and chisel getting the big parts off. I ran the grinding wheel down to a toonie size and then convinced myself to go get some more grinding wheels. The plan is to...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project - Christmas Updates!!

Yesterday I was able to do some playing with wheel fitment. Pics below are M30 struts with late z31t hubs with slip on rotors and z32 30mm calipers. Stock top hats and stock LCAs. The GTR rims have no spacer and the z32 rims have a 5mm spacer for strut tube clearance. Tires on the z32 rims are 205/4...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project - Christmas Updates!!

You're right Chad. I tried the gtr rims on the m30 hubs and on the z31 hubs and they didn't fit with the m30 hubs. I just measured 69mm from the mount face to the brake ears with the m30 hub and 74mm with the late z31t hub on an m30 strut. So the actual offset difference is 5mm. Pics later when I'm ...

Re: Jordan's '72 2 door KA project - Christmas Updates!!

Those look more like a Z32T 5 lug front hub, do they use a slip on rotor? all the Z31's I've seen have a bolt on rotor. also, on the M30's do they use a slip on rotor also? thanks and Merry Christmas! Rich, They are late z31 turbo front hubs from an '87 - '89 z31 turbo. They are very tough to find....

Christmas Updates!!

Merry Christmas folks! I was able to get the car quite disassembled yesterday. Pulled the driveshaft, exhaust, and whole rear end assembly. Found out some good and bad news yesterday. The good news is that I found out where my horrible driveline vibration comes from. The bad news is that I need a ne...

Christmas Update

Back home again after an 8 month hiatus for work. Started playing with some stuff. Bought some fancy fender washers without any ricey writing on them. http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac197/kayakdude07/15384E5B-F033-48FE-A7C4-6D7AEC837907-2024-000001D4BA0D3349.jpg http://i899.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Vented Rear Rotors?

Z32 rear will fit over, Not sure about the vented z31 rear rotors. They are similarly sized but the z32 rotor has a higher offset due to the internal drum ebrake. I can check on the z31 rotors when I get home (1 week) and let you know about those. Specs are listed in my rotor thread: http://the510re...
