Re: Whitebird
I had a L20B in a 76 620 that I rebuilt years ago that had those liners. I did remove them with a torch and die grinder. No idea if it made any difference, but that engine also lived in a 78 200SX for a while and it now resides in a 510 wagon. Still going strong as far as I know. Just my experience ...

Re: FWD CA20E bellhousing w/ GA16DE or SR20DE?
Thanks for the info. I guess it will have to be CA with this trans. I have done a CA18DET swap in a S12 using the stock trans, so I am pretty sure that the FWD versions will work. As far as the trans holding the power, they use this same trans with the KA24E in the 4WD Axxess/Stanza Wagon. so it sho...

FWD CA20E bellhousing w/ GA16DE or SR20DE?
I have a 1986 Nissan Multi 4wd with the CA20E I am pretty sure I could bolt a CA18DE/T to it, but they are hard to come by. I would love to get rid of this 8 sparkplug dog. The GA16DE and the SR20DE are both plentiful in the junkyards, but does anyone know if the bellhousing is the same as the CA on...

Re: That "other" electronic ignition.
The 78 280Z and the 78 F10 both use this type of electronic ignition. I was reading trough these manuals tonight.

Diagnostic Scan Tool?
I am in the market for a new diagnostic scan tool and was looking for opinions. Obviously It will have to be OBD-II compatible, but I would like to have OBD-I for my KA510 too. Anyone have experience with PC based tools like AutoEnginuity or even the more popular scan tools like The OTC Genisys, Nem...

Re: TURBO Q & A FORUM
I am wanting to boost my KA. I want aprox 250-300 reliable hp to the rear wheels. Can this be done to a stock bottom end or do I need pistons? I really like the torque that the car makes and don't really want lag or a drop in power down low. I would like stockish power till about 3-3500 and then hav...

Adjustable Rear Control Arms?
Is there anyone who builds adjustable rear control arms for the stock crossmember? Or does someone have plans for building my own? Basically, I want to be able to adj toe and possibly camber using the original mounting brackets on the crossmember. A complete custom control arm is not out of the ques...

Re: Datsun B10/1000
2dr sedans, he has two more but won't sell them to me. You should see his yard everything from numerous subari (plural of Subaru?) and Corvairs to a Studebaker truck and an old Saab 96. At least a hundred cars in his yard.
I'll get some pics soon.

Re: 72 510 ignition wiring
The relay on your rad is for the dual points. It can be removed if you wire it up like this simplified wiring diagram and ignore the secondry points and you'll be good to go. Assuming this is actually your problem.

Re: Trunk mounted Battery ?'s
Thanks Guys, That's the kind of info I was looking for. I was talking to Paolo on the Bluebirds list and he pointed me to this diagram of how he did his car. It sounds similar to your setup Byron. http://datsun510.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10299 The only thing that makes me nervous is the fa...

Trunk mounted Battery ?'s
I want to mount my battery in the trunk of my KA 510 and I'm looking for options for wiring it up. I have never done a trunk mount battery before. Anyone want to share the way they wired it up? I need to hash out how to run the power to the ECM and accessories. I want to run a solenoid so I don't ha...
