Re: WTB-- pillar-mount antenna mounting clip

Hi TJ-- looks like you're the man! Thanks for offering. Yes, USPS works great. I'll PM you to work things out.

Re: WTB-- pillar-mount antenna mounting clip

I'd be happy to buy one of these from TJ, but just for the sake of asking one more time-- anybody else got one they're willing to sell? Here's a picture of my busted one, in situ.

Thanks;
Steve

Re: WTB-- pillar-mount antenna mounting clip

Thanks for chiming in, TJ. I'll let you know if I end up needing this. I'm not too worried about shipping-- it's a tiny part.

Interesting about the 510 clip differing from other similar ones. Good to know!

Cheers,
Steve

WTB-- pillar-mount antenna mounting clip

I busted the little fitting that holds the top of my A-pillar mounted antenna to the body. No pic at the moment but it's the little black-plastic fitting that encircles the tube of the antenna and mounts with 1 small screw to the pillar.

Anybody got one?

Cheers; Steve

Re: Wiring harnesses-- "engine room" (main)

Hey, thanks for your interest. Is this the interior harness you're interested in-- the first one shown here, listed as #8? http://the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=31630 If that's what you're after, yes I still have it. And for sure let's make a combined deal. On this page, which one of these...

You're not wrong to be excited-- we get it! :D

I bought my new seals from Baz more than 7 years ago (near the start of my resto) and have just now been putting them in, the last couple of weeks. They fit super well and make a tremendous difference! You won't be disappointed!

Re: lube / softener for rubber door seals?

UPDATE : That Simoniz stuff that Keith pointed me to is amazing! I can't believe what a difference it made. I wiped the seal with it, both inner and outer surfaces, and let it dry for a few minutes, Then I gave the door the same kind of strong push on the metal surface itself, right behind the hand...

Re: installing new window felt

UPDATE: the felt went in just fine, easy-peasy in fact. I wasn't at all sure how it would fit. Even though it was from Datsport, which is supposedly "the best," it's still an aftermarket product, and-- as noted in my first post above-- the profile of the new material doesn't change the way...

lube / softener for rubber door seals?

Hi all; A couple of folks have mentioned over the years that they use some sort of product to soften up new rubber seals and/or to lube them so they "slide" better past the metal frame of the bodyshell. I'm putting new Datsport seals onto my doors and feeling an acute need to do something ...

Re: installing new window felt

Yeah, that's a great tool, eh? I remember asking you about it a year or two ago, and tracked one down myself shortly thereafter. It really does a good job in the corners for sure.

Re: installing new window felt

Hi Keith, and thanks for this. Very helpful! My big learning from your writeup is that I could probably install the new felt all as one piece, if I leave the glass out for now and install it later. I was leery about being able to get the forward (hinge side) guide in the right place without the wind...

Re: installing new window felt

OK, after another couple hours of fiddling, here's my new proposed method. Still looking for advice though from others who have done this! STAGE ONE 1) Attach rear lower window track (vertical piece) but not front one. 2) With door laid flat on a table, fit window and regulator into door. Keep every...

installing new window felt

So what's the recommended method for installing new window felt? I've got the Datsport pieces and they seem to fit in the upper or exposed parts of the metal channel pretty well, but I'm at a loss for how they're supposed to fit into the lower tracks (within the door). Part of the issue is that the ...

Re: Parts for sale-- body & shell

I do have wiper arms, yes, but I'm pretty sure they're from one of my 70-73 parts cars. If the earlier arms are different, I don't think these would do the job. Sorry.
