How did you not tighten them completely? They come with machine stepped "washers" to fit/align into the stock T/C mounts. You don't use any of the stock components - no rubber bushings, no washers, nada.

Aww, c'mon, the drive by wire makes it really easy to move the accelerator to a thumb control...then you just blip it with your thumb and avoid all this heal-toe nonsense

The rest of your rockers are probably okay, so my advice would be to limit your work to just that back section. Cut out that section from the trailing door edge, straight back to the wheel lip, and take the wheel lip with it, repair the panel and take care of the underlying rust however you see fit,...

Body color. Any thing else looks trashy. That's a fact, not opinion Black just makes it look like you're trying to hide dirt/grease.
