Re: Firewall Braking Flex. Something to take seriously.
Rear brakes are stock drums, all new everything, cast iron drum. Did not touch them before and after brace install.

Re: Firewall Braking Flex. Something to take seriously.
This is the package I’m running now https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/s130/micro-big-brake-kit-s130-280zx All new. Street level pads. Had them on before and after brace installation. About the only other change might be the static pedal height, ie how long the push rods are now verses before. The p...

Re: Firewall Braking Flex. Something to take seriously.
I admit my observations are not without other possible explanations, but only two things changed in my case. The installation of the brace, and of course I had to re-bleed the front circuit. The pedal was not bottoming out, I don’t mean by “hard” metal on metal stop dead, I mean, as far as brakes go...

Firewall Braking Flex. Something to take seriously.
With the current environment, I find I want to share more. Not my TP mind you, but Datsun related technical advice. In the past year I have done many upgrades to my 69 510 including many brake upgrades. I now have a full Tilton adjustable balance bar dual master thingy installed, and have upgraded t...

A favorite lash pad supplier in Auzzie land. $AUD=~$CAD, and shipping was cheap and quick.

Re: Inner fender well to front valance bolt size?
Real good chance they are M6x1.0. The clips under the top edge of the fender are that size. There really is a pretty short list of bolts sizes on Datsuns. M4x0.7, M5x0.8, M6x1.0, M8x1.25, M10x1.5 (engine block and trans FM threads), M10x1.25 (suspension, driveline, bumpers) and a handful of M12x1.25...

Re: A day in the life of a moderator
Attract women AND repel in-laws? Ever see anything that attracts NOS Datsun parts and repels rust? Now THERE’s a money maker.
Really now, I do appreciate the effort the mods put in. I know it is not trivial. Thank you.

Re: 5spd Transmission grinding and rebuild questions
Drivetrain.com and transmissionpartsdistributors.com have rebuild kits although the latter is cheaper. Bearings, seals, syncro’s. I’ve gotten kits from both, they are identical. BK104WS I believe is the PN. I’m in the middle of rebuilding at least three of my FS5W71B 5 speed stash. Busted bearings, ...

Re: fuel return line questions
Could even use a needle valve to tweek the orfice in real time to get the pressure just right.
These are pretty affordable. https://www.mcmaster.com/needle-valves
Even have locking handles to keep your final setting.

Now THERES a part that's crying to be reproduced by 3D printing. Could carve one out of a little block of aluminum one evening with a paring knife and scratch awl. Hope I'm never that bored.

TTT Big Brake kit for 280zx/510 struts -
I have a near new set of the TTT 300 mm Big Brake kit for the Datsun ZX front struts for sale. Less than 3000 miles of mostly highway and NO race use. Every nut and bolt and SS brake lines are included. While they work just fine, I found they are too big for the choice of wheels that I want on my 51...
