What's the going rate for a set of 40 or 44 Mikunis?

Post by B^2 »

Not sure if this is the right section of the forum for this question but I was wondering what the market rate is for a set of 40 or 44 Mikunis. I'm running a L20B in my 510 and I've been thinking about getting a pair. My car is mostly driven on the street and I've been looking at adding this to my car if I can find a deal for the right price. Someone was selling a pair of 44's with linkage and manifold for $1950 and I wasn't sure if that was a normal price or not.

Probably $250-400 for 40s and $400 to $600 for 44s all depending on condition.

Someone was selling a complete set with a manifold and linkage for two 44's for $1950. Seemed high for me which is what I'm trying to understand.

I sold a set probably 8 or so years ago for $1000. But they were brand new in the box, never installed and no gas through them. Included manifold and linkage.

Wish I had kept them.

Rebuilt 44s are selling for $1500 with the shorty manifold. A set of cores needing a rebuild will fetch $600-$700

The 40s are about 25-30% cheaper.

Mike Malone on FB rebuilds and sells them.

The Z car guys are paying $2500 for a set of three. Yikes. Not cheap anymore.

Mike was the one selling hte 44's with linkage and manifold for $1950. I had no idea they were that expensive so I was trying to get a sense if that is the new market price.
