I ran home today and got mine out of the garage just in case we had a bigger earthquake than the 8.9 that hit close to us today, luckily my super heavy duty shelf held all the stuff that's inches from possibly falling on and denting my car!!! I left the coupe outside for the rest of the day.....close call!! also happy to report the family is all safe and sound here in Japan!!....man that was a shaker!!!

Thought about your coupe this morning reading the news- I did the same for the guys in Australia during the floods. Funny that my concerns go to the old school cars that are all over the world when disaster strikes. Sad, in a way. Should be immediately concerned for the people, but I guess I put that into the 'given' column.

Walked past the pile of parts, saw that the aluminum radiator I got has different hose locations than the stocker. Hmmmm. Love the 'oh yeah, its a direct replacement'. Suuuuuure it is. Always mentally planning the project, just not physically.

I laid a new Ultra Blue seal on my airbox, and mounted the bypass on it. Then, on my lunch today, I set it back into place on the car, and tightened it down. I do this within 2 days of doing the seal, with the surface starting to cure as this lets the silicone still deform enough to make the seal, and take a "set", in a flatter configuration. I am going to fire the engine up in the next day or two, as we head into spring, get ready to change the oil, bleed the brakes, and a few other things to order

not sure if I'm going to put the Turbo Turtle back on the box...feed back, comments??......

On the non Datsun side, I cleaned the engine bay in my Toyota, which is still for sale, have had 3 interested parties...which boil down to...

When I bought my car from its second owner in 2007, it came with a pair of german made Hella H4 conversion headlamps.
The drivers (left for you aussies) side had a rock chip in it that in the past months actually developed a little hole. It filled with water while parked in heavy rain and I didnt notice until I saw the lamp out and looked at it further.
These lenses must be old because when I wiped the broken bulb shards and water out of the lens, the shiny reflector material rubbed out with it.

In short I just ordered a pair of these:

Great deal @$85 US & free 2 day shipping.

Heres to 30 more years of worry free headlights....

The only thing I am concerned with is if they are the right size.
5 3/4" = 146mm but hella's website says the 135mm are the right size.
Hella even lists the 135mm size under teh 146mm section.
