It turns out, I'm going to outsource either the door cards or the entire panels. I just don't think I have the proper tools to make the panels how I want them to be. However, I did do an oil change for the dime, and so I feel a little bit accomplished.
I would get some 1/8 MDF and use a jig saw. What wood did you use?

I can't recall what type of paneling it was, but it was a bad choice based off some research I did on a forum. The panel material is too porous and so it probably wouldn't even last a winter. A jigsaw and some saw horses/clamps are in need. I don't know why I thought I could just dive into the project with total crap materials.

Installed a (more) modern window mount mirror by screwing stock 510 mount spring to the part that glues to window and clipping to stock 510 location. And I switched out my broken cluster surround for the one I bought from joker72z. Great guy. Oh yeah. I stole the left chrome taillight trim from my all original, stock 71 4dr. Sweet.
three days later...
...so, the mirror worked crap, due to the compromised positioning. The difference in mount position wasn't ideal. Then, as I'm sitting in my son's 2000 civic, prepping to scrap it, I get curious. The mirror's not window-mounted, but attached above the windshield, just like a 510. Guess what else. The hole pattern for the bracket is identical. Beyond effin awesome, it's a reason for y'all to stop hatin' on civics. Cuz this part fits. Check it out.

"honduhs" don't always get the love they deserve on datsun sites. I think it might have something to do with the guys who drive them. Anyway, their rear-view mirrors are the cat's ass.

That's what I've always heard. Hating on a car because of the owner Doh!! That's like cutting off the head to cure the headache. A friend of mine way back in the early 70's had his biker neighbor blasting "The Doors" music at 0100am due to a drunken stuper. He's hated "The Doors" ever since, NOW THAT IS BACK ASSWARDS.

One guy brout out a first gen civic, his gen 1 CRX and an NSX.

Yes, that was really cool!

I had a 1977 Civic wagon and had saved a whole bunch of carb jets from when I re-jetted my carb for some solo use. I gave the bag of jets to one of the Civic guys and he was just tickled, so glad to move them on to someone who could use them.
