Those clips are great - thanks for sharing with us.

The rearward shots were interesting. Through the dust you can see the volumes of earth that you are actually picking up and throwing rearwards - that I found really interesting.

The actually footage is amazingly stable considering the terrain the car is covering.
I have a couple of questions:

What camera are you using and how are you mounting it?

What tires are you generally running?

Very cool, I think you for sharing this footage. Keep it up; it’s so nice to see a 510 still in action out in the woods.

We are using a GoPro HD camera, for the rear facing camera we used a suction mount ot the roof and we made a metal version of the GoPro mount an bolted it right to the front bumper. If you look closley to the pic you can see the camera on the bumper.
The tires are the Lassa rally 3 tires from http://www.rally-tire.com/
We also have our fan page that we try to keep updated too

The go-pro's must have impoved quite a bit - I have one of the first versions and the picture is no where near good enough quality to post, and my sounds was completely usless.

Maybe I'll need to upgrade!
Thanks again for sharing.

Insanely fun looking. Thanks very much for sharing. I love the bush trimming job and recovery on the gravel pit run! It looks fast as hell in the videos, which means it probably feels 10x faster in real life. Keep up the great work!

Here is a site with some spectator rally videos. Dan Cook's (formerly Peter Lahm's) 4 door 510 rally car is included.

Here is another site with still shots of Dan's 2 door 510 in action. And an embedded video of a rare metal to metal rally incident.

Here is another group of stills of a 280Z Rally Car.

Thanks Dave, There is never enough 510 rally footage.

Does anyone have links to more 70's rally footage - when the cars were new?

Byron,
Ask and you shall receive.

The Press on Regardless, Northern Michigan, 1973.

Quite a few 510’s in the videos, including a ’68 2 dr that I own. The car has been parked in the woods behind a friend’s house for decades. I’m sure there isn’t much left of it today.

I know that this isn't a 510, but it is rally, and it sounds awesome!

Besides, some of these classic Japanese rally cars just don't get enough coverage anyway...

It's good to see that there is still a 510 alive and well rallying in Finland.

If you are interested in watching more, the guy above has 21 videos posted, all 510 related to summer and winter rallying and ice racing.
