Nice collection pieces!, all I got is few diecast hot wheel size pieces from the 50s when my dad was a kid, one is a convertible impala, all metal including its wheels, the other one I can't remember what it is, I'll have to dig them up and post pics :-)

Eh Keith, is that a 1:43 scale or something larger?

What a crock...it seems like every time this sort of thing comes out ....the "inside" track seems to get them way before they hit the real market.

Like that 510 Wagon...UNOBTANIUM everywhere.....

I dunno..just seems like something is not quite right...... :(

EDIT: I now look on ebay...asking 125.00

Brian, what did you pay from BRE?

Byron, that is one of the 1/43 cars. I got a good buy on it and they are going up in value...at least that is what it looks like on Ebay.

Yea, I just don't see why they don't make a ton of them, they would sell them for sure. Just don't make sense.

Hot Wheels, Walt Disney DVDs, diamonds, and McDonald's McRib sandwiches all are sold under the business model of "artificial scarcity". It's an attempt to boost the value of an item that otherwise would only have very limited appeal to a relatively small audience.

With only 3,000 made, it just blows us actual people that own 510's out of the water, and lets the speculators capture the market, hoping to blow these out at the elevated prices.

How many that bought these were even around when BRE really was alive in it's original form? They are now making money off those of us that truly have lived the 510 world, and not all these late comers that now have the 510 as the flavour of the month.

I "get" the collector market for sure, I'm just bummed that we do not even have a remote chance at this stuff when it comes out, specially up here in Canada.

It's probably the same car as all the others, just painted different. I want one too. but not enough to pay a fortune.

Its no doubt the exact same car that is in the VINTAGE series, just has a different package.

What was Pete Brock selling his for on his site?

It does look the same...

They woofed it on the wheels...they keep using those generic ones...

I just wanted to point out that BRE has licensed several different products over various modeling-scales. The classic "Hot Wheels" cars use a distorted 1:64 scale, while the larger TSM model uses a more detailed/accurate 1:43 scale.

The more you know...

Yah, my TSM is the most accurate that I have seen so far.

You might want to set this guy straight on ebay -- he claims the Vintage Racing 510 was released in Canada only and is harder to find in the US because of it
