Shasta Trip/Event Pictures

Post by Boaty » 19 Jul 2004 13:40

I thought since there were pictures posted along all the other sites, popping up on an hourly basis, this site should have some pictures as well.

I don't know how many people came down from BC that travel this site very often, but Lou and Steve ran into me in Grants Pass at Les Schwab Tires since I had a blowout... went to my house, I sold Lou some fenders (FOR AN EXCEPTIONALLY CHEAP PRICE... be happy, Lou!) and a few other bits and peices.. Steve got a hood prop! (Props for you, Steve.) Afterwards we went to Riverside Park here in Grants Pass, and took a few photo's for the heck of it. I shall post the rest of them in the photo gallery later on this evening, tomorrow, perhaps. But here's a teaser sideshot of 3 dimes all in a row.

Damn, I forgot how small stock brakes are. (The 2 door in front), They came in handy for him quite a bit (ran off course in AutoX at Shasta)

That orange one is nice!

I attached a few pics and one of me in the Gymkana

Umm...

Daddy Like.

I asked a few guys down there what they spent not including their labor charge, on swapping in and having everything done + mods with their SR20DET's.

Most said about $10,000.
I swear I saw a fully restored w/ SR20DET, t3, greddy this and that, trick suspension... go for like $11,000 on eBay.

Cheaper to buy already done than to do it yourself... and better to, if you like spending money instead of doing the work yourself...

Heh.... I may buy one done up some day.

That was a once in a lifetime deal the one on ebay.. That was Kevin Kneely's car and the sole reason for his selling of his beloved 510 was to get as much money as possible for a down payment on his first house. Cant see too many of these situations going down..

68Datsun510, I was the guy talking to you about the 68 dash differences between canadain and american cars.
Looked like you were taking it easy in the autox still breaking in the motor I guessed.

artika , me and a friend came down from Vancouver, good show and good times, we'll be down again next year.
Hopefully next time there will be a better parts turn out.

Anyway here is a shot of my wagon just before shasta.

vgwagon, nice car you got there! I was new to auto X and was figuring out just what gear to run in, how fast i can go, etc without losing control on 185 street tires. I didnt do to well timewise, but from day 1 to 2, I improved 15 seconds :-).

Next year, I will be back with Azenis tires, a suspension that actually has down travel, and a straight hood ;-).
