Not being funny, but, sit down with a cold beer, and read ALL the posts on this site! It is a wealth of information that answers all your questions...in great detail!

$650 for a 69 510 wagon
donor 300zx paid $1500 I drove it for 3.5 years so I consider it free.
Vg30.com v6 kit $1500
Installing v6 , rebuilt front end, odds and ends and ect...$2000
total approx $4000

3.0l v6
non turbo
headers, maxima intake with k&n, short shifter, torque bar, 240z front brakes, b210 brake booster, and 300zx 1st gen rear brakes.
1/4 mile 14.7@93mph.
top speed 129mph maybe room for 1-2mph more ran outta room.
Is it worth it? yes, to have something that only one other known person in B.C. Canada has, and the looks on peoples faces when I stomp all over there high priced machines, you can't put a price on that or the people that always come up to me asking what is that and whats in it?

lots of work and $$$ and still counting, not for the faint of heart and personally I do it because I love datsuns.

Newbie, You will find a large group of people here who have known each other for a long time, and don't take to bandwagon strangers too well - we've all found that every time a magazine publishes an article on a 510 that's "really cool", a whole slew of bandwagon junkies flock over to take a look, but most of them will just end up flocking off after next months issue of sport compact car does an article on some other car... Honda last month, datsun this month, DSM next month, Sunfire the month after...

so, if you are here to stay, cool, welcome aboard. But if you are a lookie loo, I don't know what to say... I hope you find what you are looking for...

I hate to have to be the prick, but this has been brewing ever since some magazine did an article on the SR20 powered 510s in the US... after that rag hit the stands, it's been a barrage of oddball questions, and my favorite one, people looking for a "straight, rust free, solid, and clean 510"

I agree with Rob!! My project is 2 years in the making and it is by far the most difficult car I have ever taken on. S14 SR20 into a five ten is no where near as easy as the honda B series into a hatchback so people who want to do a 510 better know what they are getting themselves into!! 8)

Here is a sample of how my car is coming along

Well you are the designated "prick" and your doing well. I wish that
when I had my first 510 many many years ago... that there was so many
knowledgable people to help me out... Thanks to everyone on this site.
That includes you too Keith L... In addition to what 510rob has said
about the rust free, solid and clean 510... don't forget "close to free"
"willing to help someone part with old non-running 510"

If there is a huge influx of questions after a feature in compact sports car
then it will send the signal for me to buy that edition.

I paid 500 for mine, rusted flooboards, but ran (kinda). Dents everywhere. No window seals worth a damn.

I have a '69 Stationwagon, NO RUST, practically dent free (Save like 3 little itty bitty dings half the size of a quarter..), plus all the lights, everything to make it complete...

Lou.. -winks-
Already stole the bloody fenders off of it.. heh. ($60, '69 fenders w/ markers, one fender munched a bit in the front.. still a DAMN good deal, RIGHT LOU? HEHEHEH! ;) )

Either somebody makes good offers (LOU!) or I'm keeping it (LOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!) or it's going to the junkyard (LOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Hey Baz!
It is Spencer Devivo - glad to see you signed up on the website. I havent had a chance to install the steering box brace as work and school are keeping me really busy. Hopefully before I go back to school full time though I can get it installed. I have however showed it to a bunch of people...(some on the forum) and they all liked it and thought it was nicely made.

Perhaps if there is interest we could get a group buy to save shipping costs and maybe a little discount? (if say we orded 10?) One thing I noticed is that quite a few 510 guys here are running the HL510 steering box which has a different top/mounting bolts that the PL510. I don't have a n HL510 box myself so I'm unsure whether or not it is swapable with the PL510 top (I wouldn't think so).

Anyways I got to get back to work!
Spencer
