Like the hot rod MBZs eh? Don't blame you, that S600 (and the 6.3) is a machine. Welcome, and PLEASE beat that Corvette! LOL

Re: Who are you ? ROLE CALL
Yes!! If my s600 gets wrecked by some idiot (not me), all the internals will be donated to a good cause. LOL they will go into the 1975 450SLC and make a racecar out of it. That is my goal. I was not happy when the z06 didnt show up. I am getting ready for him. Soooooo i set my fastest lap with 93 octain pump gas, single weber 40DCOE, on steel wheels with Toyo R888 competition tires size 205/60r13. Each wheel and tire assembly weighs 35lbs. New setup: beadlock aluminum wheels with slicks 22.0x8.0-13 (24lbs each wheel, a savings of 11lbs per wheel of unsprung weight), 100 to 105 octane race fuel, dual webers ( if parts come in on time). I will also be changing my steering wheel to a Momo Tuner and NRG quick release that is currently installed in my 1971 datsun 240z. (I am in the process of ground up restoration of it). That should bring my steering wheel forward a bit. I cant wait for the date. The weber parts are coming from Europe. Anybody have any experience with webers???
If this setup does not do the trick, then i will turbo either the L16 or the Z22 race prepped engines. LOL This vette will wish it never had come to the autox!!!

Cool brah!! I had seen your vid several times before. Very nice ride. My question to you is, does it beat the Z06 vettes on the autocross?? That is my goal as our autocross track is short with only a small straight and good tight turns. Beautiful car thou!!
Re: Who are you ? ROLE CALL
On a tight track, my money would be on the SR 510

Hey uieluck welcome to the North East. I'm up in Southern NH in Danville and originally from Whittier Cali. Moved here in `89 because it's clean, quiet, 4 seasons, no traffic, somewhat inexpensive and a great place to raise kids. Yeah MA sucks, I'd assume move back to Cali than live in Ma, no offence to all those from Ma.uieluck wrote:Name: Uwe

Springfield, Longmeadow maybe? My wife's family is from there. And yes, it's either a humid, or cold ass pit. Northampton is sort of cool in a quaint New England kind of way. I'm sure if you had a 510 there, it would be a LOT better.uieluck wrote:Name: Uwe

BTW, I was a studio product photographer in San Francisco for 15 years. The commercial art field is one tough racket these days.

I am retired after 34 years with DOI, Have had an interest in Datsun cars since mid 1970's. Have owned four 240 Z's (still have one that I autocross) and a couple of years ago, re-built an ITC Datsun 510 race car from the ground up. The car has a six point roll cage with NASCAR door bars. The engine is a slightly modified and balanced L16 enginewindage tray, electric fans, remote oil cooler with MSD and Petronix ignition upgrades, and push button start Interior contains a kill swith, Kirkey seat, accusump, fire supression systemThe suspension consists of coil overs on the front with Koni racing shocks all around, and ATL fuel cell. Sway bars are attached with heim joints. The wheels are a mixture of 13" and 14" Panasports, huricanne, five spoke and eight spoke wheels. We are currenlt running hoosier R7 205/60's in the rear and 185/60's in the front and semi raintires. Have had rubbing issues with 205's in the front. We race at Daytona, Sebring, Palm Beach International Raceway and Homestead-Miami Raceway. The car is still being developed as we race.

Always been a car enthusiast, had my first car (Austin Metro 1.0) before my first license and filled it with ICE. Since then I have owned at least 40 cars. Currently the only thing I have worthy of mention is the Nissan 350z in the sig, but I'll be picking up a 510 this summer to keep me occupied.
Some highlights from my car career...
Audi (80) Quattro Coupe, yep, the old 5cyl beauty.
Ford Fiesta XR2
Peugeot 205 1.9 gti (wish I still had that)
Mk2 Golf gti with 1.8 20vt swap
Honda S2000
Honda EP3 Type R
BMW 335xi with about 380awhp (stolen)
Nissan 350Z

Current Fleet: 1978 Datsun 510 wagon, 1985 Toyota Tercel 4wd wagon, and a 1975 Jeep Wagoneer.
The Tercel is being sold. It's rusted beyond what I want to deal with and I have a buyer in line already. The Wagoneer has a lot of rust too but at least it has a frame so I can lift the body off and weld a new floor in. The 510 Wagon is in pretty darn good shape for being in Wisconsin. it was originally a Louisiana car but it's been in Wisconsin for over 20 years.
