Let's get one thing straight!!!
Been watching some videos of 510 stuff and there seems to be a problem with the English... Its not pronounced DOTSUN............................ its DATSUN. There is no "O" in the word.

I hear you! When I was a kid in the 1970s, our neighbors had a Datsun (610 wagon or something). They called it their "Dotsun," which bugged me even back then as a kid.

A rose by any other name would sound just as sweet.
Because when you spend a silly amount of money on a silly, trivial thing that will help you not one jot, you are demonstrating that you have a soul and a heart and that you are the sort of person who has no time for Which? magazine. – Jeremy Clarkson
Re: Lets get one thing straight!!!
but if it was pronounced Dotsun then the joke i get told every other month about were the Datsun name came from wouldn't work. punch line: (poor English Asian accent) "that soon" ?

Hmm, I haven't heard anyone myself call them dotsun, they sound like they're saying that sun...., maybe it's a Canada thing? Don't know...
Diego.
Re: Lets get one thing straight!!!
So in Canada they pronounce it completely wrong, and are proud of it... is that the gist of this thread?
When I went to Japan in the 90's, I was surprised to hear that Datsun was actually a 3 syllable word. Sounded like "DOT-to-sahn".

Randy, being from Britain and many on the site here being from all parts of the states which itself has atleast 6 distinct accents, we can really kick the crap out of each other over how we use our language.
We Canucks, french speaking population aside, use 4 distinct accents of our own. John, when you moved to Maine, I'm sure you had to be corrected on a word and frase or two . I was in Nova Scotia a few weeks back, and I to had to soak in the older set language with the Acaidian kick. We Canucks spell like the Brittons, (colour = color) but do not speak anything like them and still quite different from our neighbours to the south (zed = zee).
I think this geographical placement of our language give us all a unique flare and I love it. And although I fight Microsoft on spelling every time I write, I'll continue to spell like a Brit, and talk like Canuck, which really isn't that far from the west coast Yankee dialect
So when I pull out the Against all odds video once in a while, I'll dig that poorly recorded southern california accent of the early seventies and savor the Dotsun.

Re: Let's get one thing straight!!!
Is this like how people pronounce Audi as (Ow Dee) instead of how its supposed to be said (Ahh Dee)
By the first pronunciation an Audio system is now an Owdio System
