Agreed - this looks like a salt belt car! Ouch.

If this example above becomes worth $8k, then your car Julian should have been a $40K car... but it's not realistic on either front.

This is a 3-4K car at best IMO, IF everything is there and it's complete and it's not "fixed" through the rockers, inner fenders, inner rear quarters and trunk floor. I, like other here, have dealt with rusty cars - it's very labour intensive - and if you are not doing your own work - it's very, very expensive.

That car may be as presented, just some sort of window seal leak or otherwise allowed water inside that rotted out the floors. I'd understand that if the AZ-car bit is true. And a lot easier to deal with than rockers and quarters.

I used to think my purple 510 was worth only around 6-7k (and i thought that was pushing it) Seems now shes worth over 10. If a rusted out piecer can go over 8k and not be at reserve, then i imagine mine worth over 10k. I have no real rust other than the surface crap ive allowed to happen for the ratty look i wanted on her (i got my show 510 art, and my rat 510 thats a blast to drive). But i have literally every rare part and piece 510 lovers look for on her. She has all the stuff to build the ultimate show car, and someday i will strip her, paint her and do the interior to have a great show car. But for now since all my money is tied up in my other 510 lol. Just amazes me what prices have become in the last 5 years.

Not for a second do I believe the bids on this car are from authentic buyers.

At best you can look at the Completed Listings on eBay and see what cars MAY have sold for. Still no guarantees unless you know the buyer, but somewhat more accurate than sky-high asking prices or shell biddings. When you look at it that way prices are less stratospheric, and people don't end up actually buying cars like the Flintstone Mobile.

Put another way, there's not a lot of evidence that people are overpaying. But lots of evidence that sellers are overpricing. You want your junk to move, price it right. LOTS of buyers.

Wow, lol I wonder how much mine would be worth now, bought it for $400 in 2005, just a little bit of rust on one of the floor boards, I stripped it down and started building it from scratch, he'll no I won't sell my baby!
Diego.
