I don't believe this guy will get $18k for this dime

I think his ad alone is not doing any justice to his dime, I personally don't view it as original unmolested...
Thoughts?

It looks molested on the door card. Big 6" hole right into the door!
Nice car but if I really wanted that specific one I would offer $4500-5500 for it.

An Idea doesn't work unless you do.
Re: I don't believe this guy will get $18k for this dime
Neither original nor unmolested, though there isn't a lot readily apparent that couldn't be undone (aside from the holes in the door panels).
210hp from an L16 is a complete joke, however.
If Terry can't sell his two-door for the same money, the guy in the link above will be sitting on his car forever. That's an $8K car at best.
------------------------
I've been looking at what's out there. Ain't much. Certainly not local in SoCal. Lots of $1000 cars for $6000, lots of guys like that fishing for some sucker who doesn't know the market and hasn't done the research. Maybe they actually exist.
Big difference between listing a car for $18K and actually selling that same car for that same money.

Because when you spend a silly amount of money on a silly, trivial thing that will help you not one jot, you are demonstrating that you have a soul and a heart and that you are the sort of person who has no time for Which? magazine. – Jeremy Clarkson

Ya that's basically it, fishing..., I missed the 6" hole from my cell LOL good catch Matt!
Julian, did you go see that one unfinished project you sent the guy a message about?, I'm curious on your take on it..

For that asking price you would think it would come with bumpers.
Re: I don't believe this guy will get $18k for this dime
Did not. Seems like it would be awesome if I wanted to end up with another two-door 510, but that setup is not what I want in the end - it would have been an "assemble and turn" project. Seller had also sold a set of wheels that was in the picture in his for-sale ad for the car, and I kinda saw putting those wheels on the finished car, so then I started wondering what else had gotten sold and didn't go out to see it.KoHeartsGPA wrote:Julian, did you go see that one unfinished project you sent the guy a message about?, I'm curious on your take on it..

At least thanks to futofab that's no longer a $2000 problem.john510 wrote:For that asking price you would think it would come with bumpers.

isn't that the guy who came on here bragging about how he bought the car from an old man for minimal cost and then got pissed at us when we told him that we felt his actions were somewhat unethical (akin to elderly abuse?)?

its not the having. its the doing...

There was an Arizona 2 door that went up to $8250 and didn't meet reserve. Advertised as mostly rust free (I guess he never looked at the passenger floor)!
It will be a good day for us who own, when these cars are selling at these prices and a sad one for those how didn't buy a 510 early.
$8250 and still below reserve. (listed again, up to $4,649. Still the same bad description)

And just in case the "mint" upholstery was distracting you.
Paging Mr. Flintstone, your car is waiting.

Dude flat-out lies in the description, but he's got a suite of pictures that show much. If people are looking at them and still bidding it to $8K+, I underpriced my car by $10,000. And I'll never be able to afford another nice 510.
