Old GT3 car

Post by Josh K. »

Does anyone here know a Scotty Bell or Eric Peterson? Seems one of them might have campaigned my car in the 90's? It was saved from the crusher by Frank and Jeff in Everett and I've basically rebuilt the whole car.

Here's some pics and info:

Would love to see if he has the log books and any other pictures.

Now that's a tear down!

Quite a project, what are the plans for it body wise? Are you going all metal and going back to a street car or going fiberglass skins only for panels and keeping it a race car?

My build thread has all the pics. Replaced quarters, rockers, tail light panel, front core support...... VW metal flares, 3" ss vbanded exhaust, KA24DE turbo, all built by my hands....

Car is being built for the street with occasional track days. I had no idea it had a history though. Glad I saved it. She was ROUGH!!!

I don't know. It's changed a lot of hands and Frank doesn't remember who he go it from. He's the dead end.

This would have been around 9 years ago if I remember correctly and it's the same car. There's a guy named Marcello Vercelli up in WA, a very knowledgeable 510 racer, I'll grab the pic and send him an email about it, maybe he knows.

I bought this car from Eric Peterson outside Chicago in 2006....I had several projects going on at the time and out of all the chassis I had I felt this one was going to take the longest amount of time and work to get right. I stripped it and gave it away....the car had some history in the Minnesota/ Ontario Canada area going back to the late 80's and Eric ran it as welll....the main reason I bought the package from Eric was the treasure trove of parts it came with....FIA heads, two ultra close 5 speeds, a collections of LSD including 4.62's , a very fresh Malcolm Garrett built L18 etc, two sets of Solex 50's etc.....I think I have the original log book somewhere, I have to find it.....

That exhaust manifold is epic! Hell, the whole build looks super killer!

Marcelo seems to have changed his email address, but Todd Walrich saw this post and sent me an email:
"The info I have probably fills in the blank. In the fall of 2001, an Eric Petersen from Wisconsin contacted me to either sell me the car or ask my help in selling it. It was a car he bought from Canada. Supposedly a race car from new. He did a full restore and put a pile of money in it. It had an L18 that I did the carbs on and he was going to have an L20B built. I never did hear what happened to it after about 2002. "
