Would wonder if he even had seat belts. Whitebird didn't come to me with belts; I'm not sure they were compulsory in JDM land back then.

I don't know. As far as I know the factory never supplied any 510 with rear 3-point belts. The easiest conclusion to make is that they thought it would become a requirement in the US and engineered it in the beginning. Oh, I know about the mount on the c-pillar, but AFAIK Datsun never used it.
