Ever see one of these before....Badge

Post by loungin112 »

Hello out there. I was given these badges as a gift.

For the one on the left, I have looked around the web and can not find another one like it anywhere. The ship emblem points to being a crest for Portuguese royalty. Anyone out there who can help out with a story and/or value?

For the one on the right, I have seen both Italian and British car club references. Don't know which is correct, but I figured the car knowledge here could point me in a direction.

Thanks!

I wonder if this is what it pertains to? I have some European motorcycle racing awards, that have the same kind of look.

The crown looks to be King George 5th, so pre 1936 maybe.

Or, the ring gear looks like a small gear on a bicycle.....looks like my 28 toother on my mountain bike.

Very interesting. So it seems the one on the right is pre-194# but after the fascist period of Italy. The center insignia is different but the initials and overall design is the same. Thanks for that first link, which gives an idea of the value.

But about that one on the left??!?? I'm wondering if it is specific to a particular race in Portugal?

Thanks again bert
