Metric Fasteners

Post by Fred_L-P »

Hey guys,

Where do you buy your metric fasteners in Canada?
All the suppliers around here only sell to businesses...
Places like Home Depot only have imperial fasteners...
McMaster won't ship to Canada for individuals either...

I'm stuck and i can't reassemble my front end with all those damaged fasteners.

Thanks

I have found Nissan still sells lots of fasteners for the 510. But I've waited weeks for them at times, and not cheap. You will need part number. Look them up in the online parts catalogue on Google drive. I google " 510 parts catalogue on Google drive "
As well Fastenal will sell to walk ins if over $25. But it's tricker to get the bolt length and head size the same as factory. And I doubt you would find shouldered bolts. Iike drive shaft or rear lower control arms.
Good luck.
I find paying nissan worth it. Just plan ahead.

Bolt Supply House, Lowes, Fastenal, and several industrial supply houses in Calgary have Metric fasteners.

If you want JIS standard hardware, belmetric and clipsandfasteners.com seem to be pretty good

Fastenal is pretty reasonable. Buy a pack of 25 nice stainless bolts and they'll find plenty of homes on a rusty old Datsun... Ask me how I know! :D

Fastenal has everything I need, the thing is the 3 local suppliers refuse to sell me anything...

Anyway, thanks everyone!

Have you tried the Nissan/Datsun dealer?

You can look up the part number here:
http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/bluebird-1968-1973

Then transfer the part number into https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/

Chances are the different fasteners used back in the day are still used today and you can order them from Nissan. I have had luck so far on different fasteners.

Fastenal has gotten everything for me over the years and they have great prices. There was a great deal on zinc chromium grade 8 bolts last year because Europe isn't using them anymore so the stock was really high. Don't know if that deal is still there.
