Yokohama bringing back a classic

Someone is listening and bringing back a classic tire that was considered a great performance tire back in the day. Just with the modern rubber compounds. And only in 13', 14" and 15"

I've seen this coming up in several forums. One alluded to Japan only at the moment but will be available through other dealers eventually. I'd love to get some decent 13"s to go on some period wheels I have for the next 510 project, and some 14's for a Z project, again with great period wheels. I'm sure I'm not alone with these needs.

Now we have to see just how great a tire they are for spirited street use.

Having lived EVERY generation of the Yokohama street legal race tires, 001, 008, 032 and now the 048's, you would NOT be unhappy with them for beyond spirited driving, specially if the compound is updated a bit to match the 048/050 compound.

Typical with Yokohama, IMHO, is they got the sidewall right, so a very lineal tire in terms of steering input Vs slip angle.

Just make sure that is going on a rim of minimum 7" wide. That is a taller tire also.

I found on a 510 that the 205 was a perfect size.
