Where to buy/find balljoint for Cross rod steering linkage?

Post by 72dat »

Where might i find the balljoint that connects the cross rod steering linkage to the steering gear arm? I can find replacement tie rods, idler arm, lower ball joints, but i can't find that single one ball joint.

Any help is appreciated.

cheers.

Troy's place is my favorite place to shop these day's. He has alot of the common parts you need. He has complete steering kits from the box to the tie rods.

Contack Jeff Hino(icehouse) on here
he and Frank just rebuilt the front end on a 510 last week for a guy
I believe he got the parts locally or thru Rockauto.com.
PM him. I believe there is variation on the ball joint but ask him

Here is a link for the center linkage that connects to the idler arm. The part number still works so its worth a shot to try and order it if you havent sourced something already.

moog still makes all the tie rods and ball joints. I think the part numbers are in the part number thread and like Hainz said they are available from rockauto (dunno what brands they carry) or partsamerica (dunno if they carry moog still)

Dunno bout the center link..

autozone lists a center link, I think it was "Built to last...DURALAST" but would probably work just fine, and they list them as being really cheap, might be worth looking into

oh and with the ball joints moog might not make them any more. My dad contacted this distributor and they had all the tie rods but the ball joint part number brought up nothing. So maybe a new part number or NLA from moog :(

My girlfriend picked up the drag link bar from autozone in Florida when she was there working for only $49. $50-$60 less than buying it from autozone in Washington, who knows why.
