1971 2.5 Trans-Am Championship Poster

Post by CarlBeck » 18 Jan 2008 01:52

To commemorate the BRE 510 winning the 1971 2.5 Trans-Am championship, Datsun had 23"x32" Posters made up.

From The BRE2.net Websight:
"In going through our archives we found some original posters Datsun had made in 1971 to commemorate the BRE 510 winning the 2.5 TransAm Champtionship that year.

Each will be signed by Peter and sold on a first come first served basis. When they are gone... they will be gone. They have been stored flat all these years and are in "like new" condition."

Thanks for the heads up Carl - I've always wanted one of these. I'm going to frame it and hang it in the lounge of the new shop!

Thanks Carl,

Total impulse buy - $114.60 delivered UPS to my door. I'll have fun explaining this to the wife, but you don't hesitate on stuff like this!

Hi Byron, RWD-NissanMan, :
I just talked to BRE, turns out you now have one of eighty, 37 year old, original
Datsun 510 Posters.. directly from Peter Brock's archive. Count me in...

The sight has been updated with that information

Yes - if you send an e-mail message to: info@BRE2.net at the same time you place your order, and tell Gayle to whom you would like it personalized...she will get it done for you.

Man do I feel lucky. When I was at Pete's house last summer picking up the 510, I saw the stack of those posters in his garage and asked about them. He took one out, signed it and gave it to me.

They were sitting on the table behind the car in this picture. You can't see them but that is where he had them stored. The were lying flat between some cardboard. (yes, that is his personal Cobra Daytona Coupe)

While I was there Pete said that John Morton was coming to his house to visit that weekend and if I wanted, he would get John to sign one for me and send it to me. Of course I wanted it. I had actually brought my Datsun Factory poster of the BRE car with me for Pete to sign so I left it with him and Gayle mailed both of them back to me once Pete and John signed them.

I must be the luckiest 510 owner ever.

Did you buy your 510 from Peter, or was your car at his house for some reason?
Yes - I'd say you are one of the lucky one's...

Carl,

Yes. The Orange 510 in the above picture was purchased from Peter Brock. It was his personal DD 510.

Are the same Carl B. in Florida that is into Z cars?

The DQ has offered that issue in Color on their website. I got a color issue of it. They are looking into offering all the future issues in color if the cost is not too high.

No. I didn't even ask as he had parts of it disassembled at the time. Having him buy me breakfast while he shared stories from his past and then a tour of his home and his GARAGE makes me and my son very lucky. Owning Pete's 510 is the best of all.
