For those that don't know.......a MANUAL swap/upgrade is pretty straight forward!
1972 521 flat bed
1972 510 4dr parts car
1974 620 parts truck
1980 720 parts truck
1965 Mustang GT Coupe
2009 Toyota Matrix S AWD

LOTS of 510 parts!

Do the L16 swap with a 5 speed? I want to say a 5 speed out of a 720 will fit straight forward. Please correct me if im wrong

There is a short 71B 5 speed and in 2wd trim with a speedometer in the later 720 but I think you would need to put an L series front case on it. All you save is not having to shorten your drive shaft. It would be easier to find a long 71B from a 280z/zx, an 810, a 620 or an '80 2wd 720 truck, get a proper cross member and shorten the drive shaft. If you have problems it will be easier to find another to drop in as already converted. But that's for the new owner...
