WTB: R160 LSD Clutch Disks

Post by Jimmer84 »

Looking for the insides of a R160 LSD. Clutch disks, plates and spring disks and plates. Pretty much anything I can get my hands on. dont really care if they are scored. I have it shimmed so tight its almost locked anyway. As long as it doesn't look like this:

Hi Jim,

I don't have the parts you are looking for, bit I do possibility have an avenue for you to travel if all else fails. Many years ago I rebuilt a engine lathe clutch with new plates that were simply water jet cut. I guess the trick is knowing what material one should use. In the case of the lathe it was alternating spring steel and brass. In automotive applications maybe someone in the know could help with a specific material to utilize.

Could you use a Subaru part being that their clutch disks are likely the same thing?

I do have a R160 LSD alone without the case if you want . Ring gear is broken so I could ship the diff alone for less weight .

50$ plus shipping , let me know if you are interested :)

PM Sent.

Three B's, I have checked that out, and Subaru cannot get them anymore as well.

Byron, I thought about that as well, but on top of figuring out what material to make them out of, this one is one of the spring plates, so it is con-caved as well. I'm not sure it could be done efficiently.

Thanks all
