Quality...

We ordered some Chinese windshields a few years back, the glass showed up under size, the wrong thickness so they don't seal as well in the stock rubber and the heat treatment was off. So bad that after on 40 hours of driving, my "new" windshield looked as bad as the 40 year old one it replaced!

That about sums up my experience with the noname brand Chinese windscreen. Huge disappointment.

Byron

Hmmm Ya! I put one of those cheap chinese shields in around 1997. Today 2013 16 years later with yearly drives to West Virginia and sometimes North Carolina my windshield though it does have pitting looks like it should after 16 years. It didn't leak up until two years ago but I blame that on the demise of the gasket as it has begun to crack and it's an OEM part. Got the windshield from ProSource in Massacheuttes and have another upstairs in the garage. So for me the $200 investment for 2 in cheap glass was a deal.

I am going to float for a week on this order, see if anyone else local crops up, then will ask for a deposit. I talked to the glass fellow today, and he requested that, before he orders in, in good faith.

I will let you know how much, and you can send it to my work address when the time comes.

I am sending a PM to someone in the U. S., with a place to contact, that might work out for the U.S. guys.

We just can't do it from here cost effective, I did talk with the fellow here.

I think I will purchase an extra one, just to get the price discount, and that I would put up for sale should someone else crop up, at a nominal profit, and they would get good glass.

I'll check with Dad this weekend and see if he wants one for the race car.
It's got a big crack in the current one, and I don't think we have spare.

That makes 6 to date, and I will order an extra one. As I said, we will float this thread for 1 more week, then pull the trigger at that point.

I am up to 7 windshields now, plus an extra one.

Anybody else, getting close to your last chance to get in on the buy, at this price.

Got it, no problem to store here for a bit, looks like we have 9 now plus if I take the 10th, that is our full order.

I am still thinking of how to handle the actual dollars. Last time I fronted 60% of the money, which was quite a lot. I think this time I may ask for all up front, but, I will go and put the deposit down on good faith.

Everybody ok with sending me a cheque for the full amount?

Keep you posted.

This is exactly why I do not mind heading up these buys, everybody is Johnny on the spot with no BS!

Thanks guys! I will send Pm's out with my work address, for you to drop off or send money to.

As I did actually talk to the glass guy right at the start, the wind shields are maybe at the most, two weeks away.
So, I have to go to the glass shop to put down a deposit, which I will do next week, as it is a bit of a drive for me, and that will give me two weeks to collect some cash/cheques.

The glass will then be available for pick up at my work, or, can be stored short term if needed. I know Mike is up the Island, so that is not a problem.
