OE Nissan Z32 transmission pinion gear for speedometer

Post by Ottawa510 »

For SR20 swap, so your stock speedometer reads the correct speed. Comes with bracket to hold into SR20 trans. Brand new, installed but never used.

Fits S13 KA24DE transmission as well? If so, consider it sold.

I'm pretty sure, although I can't say for certain. I also have a brand-new cable for OE Datsun 510 speedo to the Z32 pinion gear, $20. It's the corrent length, as the stock 510 cable is too short. Did you want that too?

Red is 20 tooth. Stock 510s run 17 or black gear. This is what is mated to the rear end ratio. A 20 tooth will read about 17% slower.

This pinion sleeve is only used on the 720 and the S12. I don't think this is from a Z32 as they used an electronic speed sensor.

Yes, that fits the FS5W71C aka KA trans. It's the same as an SR trans once you get behind the bellhousing.

So will any 71B sleeve from an '80 and up transmission. For earlier 71Bs you can cut a new key way 180 from the existing one and use it. This is what I did on my '79 280zx transmission when I put an '85 720 tailstock on it.

So it works with SR and KA transmissions, fits in the hole. A little bit slower as Mike mentioned but you can use the stock speedo. Also, I made the bracket from the previous sensor, and that comes with as well.

Ok, let me check my rear end ratio. I have a KA trans with a R160 diff. Is there an easy way to determine the ratio?
