need rear disc brake conversion brackets

Post by toylet »

Looking for some rear disc brake conversion brackets that fit 1987 maxima calipers to 1983 200sx rotors on a 510.

Ordered 2 different sets of brackets and seems like no one knows how to build them properly

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-510-rear ... 39&vxp=mtr
These brackets positioned the brake pads 4mm higher than the rotor... RETURNED

http://www.datsuns.com/510/brakes/510brackets.htm
These brackets positioned the factory maxima bracket right up against the rotor. I was told that I have "rare" production 510 control arms and I should space it out with washers.... RETURNED

Do you have a 510 goon or sedan. I fabricate for both but the goon uses the Maxima caliper and the 280ZX rotor.

The sedans use the 280ZX caliper & rotor.

Contact me and I'll hook you up with a guy in Hawaii that has done this upgrade.

If those 200SX rotors are the same diameter as the 280ZX rotors (255MM), then the mounting bracket I fabricate will work, $150 shipped to the lower 48 states.
I suggest you contact (Don Oshita dzaster96799@yahoo.com) in Hawaii to make sure what you have will work.

A lot of people have used that second set. I had some, they seemed to fit fine, although I never got to drive with them before I sold my 510. Again, though, A LOT of people have used the EDP brackets. Perhaps you're using the wrong parts.

^ The guy redesigned the brackets so they are no good now. I had his original design at one time and those were perfect.

If you guys are looking to have a rear disc conversion bracket in addition to having an option for an additional caliper mount (Hydro brake), I can help you. PM me...

I have the second set with `86 Maxima calipers and found I did have to space the caliper out. Those brakes work great with the ZX fronts and 7/8" master. I was told that some of the control arms brake backing plates mounts were positioned a bit differently, a slight change in the welding jig I guess. But the spacing is no big deal.
