The one thing left to replace in my 1969 interior is the glove box door. My door has a crack in it just below the push button latch so I'm looking for a cherry condition door. I think it may also be the door used in 1968 production cars??? Probably any car with the sweep style speedometer.
The rest of my dash is original and perfect so I don't want to send off my glove box door to Just Dashes as it won't match the original dash when it comes back.
Do you have or know of someone who may have a stash of 69 interior parts? If so, I desperately need a Glove Box Door!
Let me know!
Doug
WTB: NEED A 69 Glove Box Door
Re: WTB: NEED A 69 Glove Box Door
Hi Doug;
Outside the SSS type, there are 2 types of 68 dashes, USDM and Non-USDM.
The 68 non USDM dash is definitely all metal - I have many.....
Here's a 68 USDM Dash; And even though I have a 68 USDM dash (the photo in the back of the white wagon) I don't remember if the back of the glove box door was metal or plastic, but the USDM 68 dash glove box door is definitely padded as you can see below.
However in 69 they all became the same for Canada and the US at least. But you can clearly see that even these are different from 68 - 69 shown in these two random photos I found on the net from the same angle; the 68 USDM glove box door above, and the 69 glove box door below.
Hope that helps, good luck with your search.

Re: WTB: NEED A 69 Glove Box Door
Hi Byron,
Thanks for the education on the dash and door types. I had no idea there were so many variations.
The one I have is the 69 version you showed from a random pic on the internet. (2nd pic from the last pic you posted) Flat top half with padded lower. Chrome strips above and below the top flat half of the door.
Any chance you have one of these versions?

Re: WTB: NEED A 69 Glove Box Door
Doug, Unfortunately I can’t help you out at all, it’s likely the only one I don’t have a spare of. In fact of the 30 some 510’s that I have owned over the years, the Bronze is the only 69 510 I’ve ever had, and it came with a custom wood dashboard when I got the car.
For that car I had a 69 SSS RHD gauge cluster that I really wanted to use for the build, and found that this cluster actually worked quite well in the non USDM 68 all steel dash in LHD configuration. The installation is noted in my build thread.
Good luck with the search, I just wanted to set you straight on the 68/69 dash differences so you didn’t end up paying for the incorrect panel.
