I recently ended up using a set from a 280ZX as my 510 stock was also gone.
Since I have an older type R180 with the Bolt in style stub shafts, I used a pair of 280ZX half shafts that have the spline right on the inner end of the inner half shaft U joint. It eliminated 2 flanges and 8 bolts out of the system.... 8 bolts I don’t have to worry about checking anymore on a regular basis!

For years I’d been throwing these away when I parted ZX’s. But when it came down to it, I looked at the design and realized it really is better than the two flange system.... clarity after all these years :-) Age is a funny thing. Good luck with your search, hopefully this helps.

Byron.........was the long center bolt "captive" in the stub axle, unless you disassembled the u-joint? If so, I have a set + 2 ZX parts cars!

ray23.....saw your other post...........do you need the STUB axles at the outside where the rear wheel bearings are? If so, maybe look for a pair of good control arms with good wheel bearings, cuz swapping out the outer STUB axles is a royal pain in the rear!!

got the bearings out already and ready for a new set, but one axle is all FUBRD from the previous owner. I'm picking up a set tomorrow, so i can finish the install.

Yep, the long bolts are captive in the 280ZX stub axle, and there's a little O ring on the bolt as well to seal it from leaking oil - just like the 510 bolt.

I too pulled these recently from a 280ZX rear set up, which is why they were kicking around.

It's a bit of a pain to get the bolt started, I'd certainly recommend you start at the inboard end and then bolt on the flange at the outboard side to your LCA stub axle. In this way you can move the axle to one extremity and give yourself some more space.

Honestly, I can't think of why I wasn't using these before! They make more sense for sure.

I've developed some direct bolt-in CV axles for 510.

Servicable, reliable, and beefy enough to handle at least 220 ft/lbs.

I'm just wrapping up testing and they should be available in a few weeks.

I'm liking this! Let me know when you need a tester! I'll try my best to make them fail.
