Interested in the cost for 235/45/13 as well if they are available to be shipped to US!

As a matter of comparison the 225/45/13 R888 is US $143.88 each with free shipping and the R888R is US $ 147.36 from Tirerack.com right now. Makes either choice just under $600 per set delivered.

I was not overly impressed with the R888 on the track either and would be either going back to Hankook Z214 or maybe try the R888R for the track. 13"tires are pretty limited unless you want to spend over $200/tire.

The 13s are available. If everyone who hasn't already put down what size you would like I will get the individual pricing.

I'm in the market for a set of tires for another set of wheels. I'm running 185/60r14 Nankang NS-2Rs on my current wheels and they perform amazingly. Do you think with the stiffer sidewalls of the AR-1 I could fit 225/45r15 on a 6.5"? When are you needing to make the purchase by and can shipping be done to an US APO address?

205/50R15 fit perfectly on a 7" wide wheel. For the 225 Nankang suggests a 7.5" wheel.
Will it fit...yes...will it be an optimal setup....no but I don't think it would be "bad". Maybe someone else with experience with wide tires on slimmer wheels will chime in with some thoughts.

If anyone is interested in reading some reviews of the AR1 I have found this site to be a good source for tire reviews.

I have had experience with that and as I usually say, the sidewall flex can become an issue with the larger tire not pulled out on a proper bead width.
A 225 is a taller tire so that extra bit contributes to some flex.

Is it a deal breaker...really depends truly on how hard you drive and the work you put the tire(s) through which can or cannot translate back to you as lineal feed back.

As most of us have seen, we did not like the R888's as they just ruined the feel of our 510's, specially in the rear, which is not what you want for very fast driving.

My thoughts.

Thanks Keith,
Reading the reviews people who have run the R888 and R888r were immediately faster on the AR1.

I don’t buy it. The R888 and the R888r was so much different. Sounds like a blanket statement to me. I’m definitely going to have to get a set and see. No way they will work as good in the rain! Haha.

I almost bought a set of Keith’s favorite tires. Twice the money and if I did end up liking them they won’t be around next time. So no point. The problem with going lower and lower tread wear is the grip masks driving issues. Less sidewall flex is always nice though. The Z3’s were to annoying to drive after having the R888r’s. I’m scared to try anything better. The R888r’s are so cheap!!

You guys just gotta come down and race. We will see how well your tires do compared to mine :) can’t lie to the clock.

We get 12 runs that count towards a win, also I like to take people for rides, their reaction is great! I was over a second ahead of the next RWD car anyways :)

Jordan they do have that size, I can ask about the price. Also Mike (Cartel) is talking to the western distributor so he may get some better pricing. I have known mike for a while and I think it would be good to have someone local to deal with for them.
185/60/13 @ $144+tx each

235/45/13 @ no stock availability :(

205/50R15 @ $139+tx each

This is the guy I am talking to initial pricing on the tires. I am trying to see if I can get the price down a bit more if I pay for everything myself and get them all shipped to one place. I will keep you posted.

met rep today he said they have 20000 sf in Calgary and 250,000 sf in mtl.

They primarily sell wheels most 17" plus. So 15 and smaller they only bring in what's got interest. I'm sure if I said I wanted 12 of each 13" tire they would bring them in on next order..but next week I can get a direct answer. He was on his way to mtl tomorrow

At least you can see the 205/50 x 15 is still a popular size, at least for now.
