WTB-- pillar-mount antenna mounting clip

Post by SteveEdmonton » 21 Oct 2019 07:03

I busted the little fitting that holds the top of my A-pillar mounted antenna to the body. No pic at the moment but it's the little black-plastic fitting that encircles the tube of the antenna and mounts with 1 small screw to the pillar.

Anybody got one?

Cheers; Steve

I likely do, but in the States. Let me know if you don't find one in Canada! BTW the 510 clip was "short"........most of the later ones were "long" & misalign the antenna rod with the A pillar, so make sure you get a "short" one!

Thanks for chiming in, TJ. I'll let you know if I end up needing this. I'm not too worried about shipping-- it's a tiny part.

Interesting about the 510 clip differing from other similar ones. Good to know!

I'd be happy to buy one of these from TJ, but just for the sake of asking one more time-- anybody else got one they're willing to sell? Here's a picture of my busted one, in situ.

Thanks;
Steve

Now THERES a part that's crying to be reproduced by 3D printing. Could carve one out of a little block of aluminum one evening with a paring knife and scratch awl. Hope I'm never that bored.

Widdling one out of aluminum was also my though Jim :-)

I guess the next issue is finding new antennas that match the original.

That was my first thought when I saw this pop up. I need to dig through my boxes and see if I have one that I can base a model off of.

Does this antennae mount on the opposite side of the driver?

As for the antenna itself, I bought one online a few years ago from Crutchfield for a ridiculously low price-- about $10 including shipping. I see that it's still available from their Canadian branch operation, and still for the silly low price of $7.99. https://www.crutchfield.ca/p_12044UP21/ ... tenna.html
