part wanted

Post by dynobones » 05 Nov 2003 10:26

Does anyone know where a I could get an unmangled peice of a 510, I need a chunk from the gas flp back to the tail light and up to the trunk. It doesn't need to go all the way dawn to the bottom quarter I just need peice that has good metal and the original contour of the super sonic body line and th tail end beside the tail lite.Any one chopping up a car? In Canada? I know that they do this kinda stuff in cali but it is expensive to ship and stuff, just thought I'd askcause my car got rear end side swiped pass-side, I've tried body working it but am getting so frusturated cause it is so hard to please the eye.I will trade two fibreglass fenders, they are both pass. side not mint but definetly usable non-flared style.

Wow, hope the rest of that car was torn off ina accident or something otherwise that is kinda sad, maybe I'm a pitiful romantic, but wow. I can't use this one though my car is white and it'd look so contrived.

I thought you said you were looking for a replacement quarter ? This is ideal. You would not be able to replace yours from the gas flap, you would have to go back to the door pillar. AS structural integrity and factory welds are all there.

I think I'd rather fab mine some more, I had it on blocks all summer welding, it wasn't rusted too bad, but I cut out all rust welded and flared it with fibre flares, it's just that stoopid body line that got mangled and is so hard to find again with hammers ansd dolly's, I cant afford that chunk on ebay, It'd be pricey nce it got here and oney is tight. Thanks though for pointing it out, actually I am thinking about it but shouldn't, trying to balance needs and wants blah blah, ah, well, what are ya gonna do.
I'm smiling because I have no idea what is going on.
