We downloaded it onto Matt's laptop, so I will see if I can review it tonight and let you know. I have emailed the response from GoPro to you also.

We should have lots of footage now, as I have copies of footage from Deni's car also. At least his engine sounds awesome on the in-car...I think I will dub it over to mine

haha, thanks Keith.
As luck would have it I erased all my newsletter files last night by accident and in those files were all my Octoberfast pics and videos.
I bought a recovery program and it looks like I got most of it back save for the videos.
I still have to go through it all.

Deni, you have the sweetest sounding motor of all our rides! Mine sounds like a blender with a bad motor...

I have Andrews USB/card reader, Jason, will you be seeing him? I will keep it with me if you want to pick it up from work.

$50 bucks recovered 98% of all my data so I am good.
A side effect is that the gopro stuff is now single images. weird?
I still have to go through the video folder and see if it it recovered also.

Hahah,Thanks but your car would win the race.
The video cam took with me in behind off camera "turning" around sounded really good.
The gopro doesn't do your car justice.

Ok, we have some good footage overall! Between Deni's scenes, my GoPro and Samsung in car, and Byrons Gopro, which turned out just fine also, and got all three sections. Spences to Merrit, Aspen Grove to Princeton, and, just on the down side hill past the Manning Lodge, where both my camera and Byron's batteries died.

Byron, your footage is good!! The lens cover was still functional, to the point your batteries died, which also worked out where my camera died, on that big, wide downhill passing section, past Manning Lodge.. So, the rock got you between there and Hope. I suspect that is was on the slide hill, where all the gravel and dust were on the road.

Matt and I are already thinking how we will edit this, again maybe try to keep it around the 35 minute mark, or so.
There is lots of everybodys cars, and of course just the colours and travel aspect of the Great Rolling Dyno of B.C.. We will keep some of the natural sound where it is reasonably clear, and anything to do with Deni's engine sounds, will be kept intact. You can hear some of Byron's induction noise, but the Gopro just breaks up at some points.

I SWEAR I AM GOING TO GO ON A QUEST FOR THE BEST VIDEO FOR CAR USE, THAT CAN BE HAD..MAYBE IMAX!!!!!

That's good, I'm glad it's there.
I was thinking I should just record the sounds on my mini cassette recorder, or get one of those new tiny memory recorders, then we car just edit it in later! I think you can pick up one of these units for under $50.

Did you get that brief shot of snow that we saw on the sides of the road on the Allison Pass Summit?
That would make for an interesting change of scene: rain, the changing of the leaves, bright sun and then snow! God I love this country!

I look forward to it Keith.

Matt and I just did a quick scan of the sections, just to see where they ended. I will sit down and watch the whole thing this weekend, I would think the snow should show up, as it was in the shade and the contrast was very flat there.

There is a scene ( Princeton leg ) up the mine hill, you were in front, when we pass you up the hill. with Cam T. on my tail. We will be able to split back and forth from your perspective, to my perspective, plus, the Samsung in-car shows the Wink mirror too, so you can see the car in it.

As Rob is the electronics guy, and his Dad the sound guy......I think I know what they should be doing this winter...building the ultimate sound/video set up for car use.

When you think how close the GoPro is in concept....

I have looked at all the other "helmet" cam type setups, cripes, they are a mess of wires, require their own power supply, plus, you still need some sort of recording device. The Samsung was close, but of course has the remote wire. The sound went for absolute crap in the in-car on mine, just sounded like huge wind noise, which is weird because I never had the windows down. I know it has to be just the whole sound level inside the drum of my car. At the go-cart race we just did, with the remote lens on my helmet, it actually came out not bad, with my "wind sock" killing all but the last of the wind noise, yet, in the car......crud.

As my son said..."that is why there is always music overlay on most videos you see, as the sound portion is usually pretty crappy!"

That's awesome Rich! I was hoping that something that was totally obscure and only used by 510 freaks would work for picture links! Did you get the photoshare I sent too?
