Where's all that gate money go, anyway?

I agree, should not matter where the money goes at least someone is putting on a show in Socal. These shows always have a big turn out.
However the money is used for the rental of the parking area. NOT CHEAP from what i have been told by Jose and Ted Lo

Xactly! Money that they have to pay up front! They also have to rent a porta-Potty and probably provide event insurance, then hope they recover all that money and maybe a little extra cash for time and effort.. I know there where a couple of swap meets Ted didn't get that $$ back.. He was cool about it!!

Then why not find another venue? There was a swap meet and car show just last month. The Datsun Heritage Museum folk seem like a lot more personable to deal with, and lot cost would go to supporting the museum, a better cause than supporting some generic city's budget.

Re: SWAP MEET / CAR SHOW — Eagle rock recreation center
where does the dime quarterly money go is a better question, the car show and swap is maybe three times a year if we're lucky, your magazine is 4 times a year and printed in black and white so that means that is not as expensive as full color print, plus you know exactly how many copies you will need because of subscriptions, jose and ted have no idea if the show will be a dud, they are succeptable to the elements, meaning if it rains not as many people will showokayfine wrote:Where's all that gate money go, anyway?
