Golden Garden caravan from portland metro area

Post by sssr20det510 » 18 Mar 2010 14:04

When: Sunday March 28th 4:30am
Where: Meeting at Premium Auto Repair 1500 washington St Vancouver, Wa 98660 and driving to Golden Gardens park in Seattle.

Well every year on the last sunday of March, there is a HUGE multi-forum meet that is organized at the Golden Gardens park in Seattle.

It's set up by NorthwestNissans.com but gets advertised on all kinds of forums. The majority of the meet is Nissan/Datsun, though tons of Subaru's, BMW's, RX-7's, etc all show up. I think its the biggest meet in Seattle the whole year.

Last year over 500 cars showed up. Including a few old school Skyline's, new GTR's, loads of fun 510's and of course the drift crowd. Its a fun meet and a great chance to see some really cool cars that you normally wouldn't get to see up close.

We need to make sure we get as many of us datsun guys up there as possible.

At least 10 of us ratsun.net guys are meeting up and realm guys are welcome to join us for the drive up

I'll be taking my son to this. Is there a 'swap meet' area for parts, or is it just a car show? Have a few needs to fill. Should be awesome to see, and I see this putting the fire under my son, which will help me, too.

I know Jeff and Frank are going for sure.

Be honest its getting out of Hand down there.

before was early datsuns and Zs that show up. now its 240SX dominated and now every Jap manufacture and now VWs show up. You have to bee there at 6 50am come later than that youll be parking far out in the street.
People doing Burn outs ect... So many people that they will park in front of your car(so dont plan on leaving if you have a date elsewhere)

The Like the "Planet of the Datsuns" meet at Salt Water State Park. Smaller and more Ratsun people there.

I think they need to change the name to "Golden Showers" since it usually rains.

I may drive through if the weather permits......I hear the parking issue and idiots are out of hand.

Looks like I have another cage lined up once I get Robs car done... you know, make hay....
Have fun, and post some pics. I very much look forward to 510 day down in Seattle.

Got there at about 9:45, and there was no parking 'in' the park. Watched a Park Dept van break a tie rod right in front of me when he was turning around. As stated above, LOTS of 240's of every level of build, a few nice Skyline's, Z's, and 510's(Dillon's was by far the nicest). A really cool electric 240, and a couple nicely swapped LS1 & 2's into 240's. Also, TON's of police. We bailed at about 11:30, and passed a steady stream of cars heading that way. I can't imagine how it was at 2:00.

Was a cool way to spend the morning, regardless of the weather. I'm hoping to be able to take my son's car and my Rx2 next year. No old school rotary cars there before I left.

Amazing how many cars are out there.
