Re: 2011 All Japanese Car & Bike Show - Spanish Banks, Vanco
I just talked with Richard tonight - looks like the Celica Club and other Toyota guys will be joining us, as will the old Civic Club.
Now if we could only find those ever elusive Mazda guys! Anyone know a contact? If so, call them!
Some guys are also joining us from VIDE on the island as well.
Looks like it shaping up to be a good show

"Boil, Boil...trouble and toil..."
Weather looks to be nice on the long range now, predicted 15C. Don't forget to dress warmly though, as I suspect we will get the usual wind down there, which can be very cooling.
I plan to leave the plant about 8:30, for anyone one that wants to convoy out. Stevie Biker is bring his monster motorcycle he has just finished, it is a work of art.
You can wash your vehicle at the plant also, for anyone that needs that last minute cleanup.

...and the spring weather is looking' good.
Confirmed; I'll be there with my little grill, and at least one 510. I may bring the L13 car, or the Bronze - not sure yet.
See you all there.

Sounds good, I am going to be there just after 7:30 I think. I'm going to pop into work today and wash the car, as I did not get it done last week.
Weather still looks to be the best yet for the year, about time...then back to rain on Monday....

Hey everyone! Start those engines!
it's Trophy Building Day!
I'll be at the beach by 8am, to hopefully shoo off any crazy locals from the parking lot, and to form some sort of fortress to fend off all the VW's, fitness nuts, dog walkers, etc.
Anyone have any good barricade suggestions - remember, other cars don't seem to work... atleast not Versas and Jettas.
Who has the Club banner? I'll be out and about later tonight picking up things and could grab it. unless that person plans on crapping the bed too and showing up early
Call all your friends, family and other club members.
Get them out, this is gonna be a good show! And the better you all make it, the more money goes to Japan!

How about picking up some of those large rolls of party ribbons from the dollar store and tie them to table legs/car mirrors the world's weakest fence? Not your tradition plastic thin ribbons to tie gifts, but the wider paper stuff that's around 4 inches wide and comes in a million colors.

Is there any close by parking / locations for anyone coming out to see the show? With a good turnout for the show and a VW show in the next parking lot {?} parking may be hard to find. Any suggestions?

In just two days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.
Re: 2011 All Japanese Car & Bike Show - Spanish Banks, Vanco
park there before the VW guys.
they just show up in the afternoon en masse. I don't think they have a permit, and just force away the public...
reminder: we are in the bigger lot this year, where the VW guys parked last year. I will have our portion blocked off, as per our permit. if there becomes and issue with parking for friends/spetators, I'm sure we can accommodate. it'll just cost you $20!
note: try to approach the show from the south, and loop around UBC, to get to the lot from the west. It is also the BMO Vancouver Marathon, which uses 4th Ave all the way to the Point Grey area and turns around at Marine Drive - the access to the beach areas. Broadway should be a mess!
as for blocking off the area, I will just use the first few cars to arrive and park them across the half way point, and just fill the lot towards our entrance with the tent and registration. there is still the matter of keeping people from driving into our entrance... but you just can't defeat stupidity and arrogance.
