That's too bad Mike, you will miss a great drive. You should get a passport, just never know what else might crop up. The drive to Baker is very nice also.
We will do something local anyhow!

That's hilarious Mike, visions of 33's under fenderwells cut out with a torch just flashed through my mindbutters68 wrote:i will shave my head and paint butters camo, give him a lift kit and hide in da hills with the samsquaches.
My fresh passport came in the mail this past Friday, I'll be sporting a beard on my passport for the next five years, if I keep it or not.

As I drove into the plant, the rain started..WTF....
Arriving at the plant, the sun came out..ok..good to go....head off to car show...rain starts, a BLACK cloud like I could not believe is hanging over South Surrey, right where the show is to be. I turn a round and go back to the plant and phone home....yes it is POURING here..ok...I will wait it out a tad. I look at the highway cams down in that area, it looks ok, even #99 looking good. Off I go again, staring off into the South...sure looks like huge black cloud still there...sure as heck, I just get halfway down #99 and the sky just opens up...crap..my super clean car gets slimed. Oh, well, committed now! I really was more worried about the rain capability of the race tires, but, they seemed actually ok, at least in the rain storm, not like I tried to take a corner fast either.
Byron can relate to this..thinking back to Canby..I must have wiped my car down 4 times, as did hundreds of others, as the sun would come out, dry car, rain came back, etc......
It finally did clear right off, about noon, so it was all good. I was the only Japanese car there, everything else was pretty much Detroit Iron, basically a mini Langley car show.
I really do believe that about every 4th person that came, either had a 510, or, had a buddy with one. I'm not kidding, of all the shows I have been at, this statement had Steve and I just laughing every 5 minutes, as someone came along! I also met more people that had a common link back to slalom friends I had back in the 70's and 80's too. I guess when you have been around in the car scene for so long as I have, it is bound to happen. Greg showed up to say hi, as did Robyn, so that was cool.
Other than that, it was just another car show, more of the sameness that seems to be a common thread, what with all the Detroit cars.
I did look at this as a test drive though, and the 510 ran perfectly, more quiet now with the mods I have done. And...It sure is nice to be able to roll that passenger window down, the car cooled down in a heart beat after sitting in the sun. Drives are going to be so nice now. I still want to try to fix that fuel gauge, just bugs me driving along with the gauge on E, even though I know it was full.
