Octoberfast 2013 - Saturday Oct 12

Post by bertvorgon »

OCTOBERFAST 2013

As we are about to blast in to October, do we still want to try to get our fall drive in, and, if so, where would we like to go? I'm easy this year, whether we drop across the line, or do some loop up here.

We are going to get pounded this weekend with our first Pacific storm, which is a reminder we will have to start watching the weather window again.

It seems like people have been very busy this summer, and I know for me this will be the lowest mile summer in sometime in the 510...I did wear out a pair of hiking boots though.

EDIT: I just noticed that I have been on-line for 10 years now, and I think I have gone through 3 computers.

I'm in Keith. work permitting of course. I do need to do a once over the car after my track day last week - a check and clean up. But this won't take too long, might even get it done this weekend. Thanksgiving weekend Saturday even works for me - the kids don't have sports games that weekend which is a bonus.
North or south of the boarder is irrelevant to me, but there has been some on passport holders pipe in the last few months, let’s hear from those guys and plan from there.

I'll look for the updates.

I'm in Keith, whichever side of the line your set to go! I even have a choice of cars now, stock L16 4 door or KA24 4 door WHEE! I think though that with some guys unable to cross the line perhaps we should consider one up this side for Octoberfast.

Hey if you guys head down this way this year I'm in. I actually have a driving 510 "knock on wood" I'd head up there but don't like getting up that early :)

Ok, we will do the fall drive up here.

What do you think...up the Canyon to Ashcroft, do the Logan Lake #97C stretch ( which should be beautiful in fall colours) to Merrit, then cut back via # 8 to Spences Bridge, and back down the Canyon?

This route gives us the most truely open road.

The Hope Princeton has a big section under construction, plus, it just does not have the passing areas.

We will do this route again then, except we will have the fall colours.

I'm in, the car needs one last good run before it has to go to sleep.

I'm in, work/weather permitting. Keith, I've hardly driven this season also. The last time I had the car out was the Winthrop cruise!

Dates will be hard to peg, as WEATHER is the issue now.

This will be an almost last minute call, depending on any long range predictions, so unfortunately, unless we do get a real comeback in the weather, it will be a Thursday/Friday call.

I have lucked out on every thing I have done this summer, so in good faith we go.
