Re: Knox Mountain 2015
And....a final reflection on how many cars Turn 5 claimed.....
For you non-locals, Turn 5 is halfway up Knox, can be a very fast left hand sweeper, with NO room for error. You were either in the ditch, or, in most cases, out on the forest, hitting either the only rock or the only tree there. Now, it is just a concrete barrier, so it is pin ball time now.
Dave went off here in his 510, but managed to haul it down enough that his trip into the ditch bent up some suspension stuff, but the car lived to fight another day.

Do you remember how hard we laughed that night?
I thought I was going to die. I don't think I have ever laughed that hard since.
Those were beyond good times, never to be revisited again, a time in our youth, to remembered by those that were there, for the experience that is was. Good times!

Re: Knox Mountain 2015
Both Conrad, Peter and Tim Charmin were both good friends of my father when I grew up in Edmonton - I remember these guys well (along with a bunch of other NASCC guys) My dad ice raced with some of them as well. Those guys are still in close contact with each other, they were all very close friends. I remember seeing this convertible 510 in Edmonton at the road course that used to be in the north of the city. Boy that goes back. I used to race my BMX bike on the same grounds as the road and drag race track2DoorJim wrote:Keith, do you know if the fellow in the right side of the above picture is Tim Chairman? I recall he had a brown turbo'd civic.
Tim was also an engineer, and had lived in Castlegar for many years. That turbo Civic still lives - in part. Tim rolled that car between 2 and 3 at Knox one year. About 20 years ago that motor got moved to the back to drive the correct wheels of another Civic.
If you recal, Tim also pulled his Civic with his 510 wagon - a dark green one.
Wow, lots of memories.

Re: Knox Mountain 2015
WOW...I have never seen those pictures before!!! Beyond cool. There is a bit too much toe-in I would say on Dave's car.
That was the year that Stevie Biker hauled our cars up on his transporter and I brought the Boler up with the family.
You were obviously in Turn 5 that weekend. Was that the same weekend the Brent wrote his 510 off in Turn 7?

I can't remember if it was the same year. But Jamie M went off at 1 that year, and took out the mighty super cooling air dam as well.
I know I have photos of Brent car in the ravine. We were at Turn nine spectating, knew his car was next and heard the off! Brent did some logging on that one.
Great shot of Brads chicken head 68. I have more of that car on this same weekend.
Was Sean K not running his white 510 at this time as well? I pretty sure he was. I'm in QC right now and far from my photos.
