First summer drive to Fort Casey, via Chuckanut drive
Re: First summer drive to Fort Casey, via Chuckanut drive
This is Seafair weekend in Seattle......big,big event. I would expect a large contingent of Canadians attending.
I think the big crush would be today and then returning home later Sunday.

I've already made at least 15 trips South this year ( MBI ) , and I'm pretty darned sure that there will be very few people crossing the Border at 5:30 to 6:45 AM on a Sunday morning ... unless they are driving Datsuns . After about 7:00 AM it starts to build.... FAST. But I think we'll be fine. I normally cross before 7:00 AM or after 10:00 PM
Remember those famous words ... Don't Panic!!
Edit: Just saw Dean's post. Sea Fair would certainly change things Friday and Saturday, but I think we'll be OK on Sunday. Getting back may be a PITA. I'm thinking about staying overnite in a a B&B or Hotel in Oak Harbor or Coopsville.

As long as there is time for me to get some concentrated coffee beans distillate somewhere early in the drive I will be good.
If no one from the future comes back to stop you from doing it then how bad of a decision can it really be?

I think about the same, if we are early like that. I maybe plan on heading to Aldergrove to cross back....at least it is level there and I don't have to ride the clutch to get up the small hills before the booths.
We will re-trace our steps back up Chukanut so that will spit us back out at Bellingham, so minimal I-5 thumpy thumpy.
I am going to head into the plant late this afternoon to pickup my car.

I'm just putting the heater blower box assembly back in the Z. Had it out to do some servicing and lube the fan motor bushings. A few other things to tinker with, but should be done in plenty of time.

We've all taken a vote and agree that cutting Richard's AC compressor belt is the only fair thing to do.funwithmonkeys wrote:What you have AC?!??? That sounds like such a luxury.Chickenman wrote:It's also the AC blower..
Hope you understand.

I'm also installing the new alternator today, so at least you guys don't have to push start my car in 30c heat...

What a nice drive today, warm, car just purred along and I swear the valve adjust made it a bit better on the exhaust temp.
I stopped by Specialty and Steph's 510 is in there to get lowered a hair, plus fix some goofy stuff that was done to it. IE: the motor mounts were clocked 180 degrees out.
My car is now safely tucked away in a secret bunker, guarded by land mines, barbed wire and high voltage electricity. I'm 5 minutes away from the store, so I will be there at 20 after 6.
