Barely made it home. Got in my driveway and the car died. Seems I got very bad fuel. Hope the filter is clogged and not another swollen plunger in the carb.

Morning World,

Having been an organizer for many large events a few lifetimes ago, a very big thanks and Kudos needs to go out to James, Richard, Byron, Hardeep and a great group of others that brought this together the way it did. Parking was perfect and the exiting was very efficient, considering there was only one way out. Good job guys and gals.

I sweat a few bullets on the way home, as traffic was crazy busy, even having to go past a dead 510 and some Honda's who were slightly blocking traffic. I hope they got them all going ok. At least the slight rain shower we had dried up, leaving the roads 99% dry, so I actually made it back to the plant without getting my car slimed up, bonus round!

I got to re-connect with some old friends (MR2 crowd) from the wonderful Boundry Bay days of solo, where we could hit 80 MPH in the slaloms and the courses were over 2 minutes long...think about that.

Here are a few of my pictures from the day. What a wonderful mix of cars and so nice to see that many 510's out again.

Enjoy.

I just want to echo those sentiments. A fantastic job was done by all. Thank you so much.

Ran into the same MR2 group. Wandering around taking pictures, when I hear someone calling my name. Turns out it was Randy Hone from way back in the mid 70's autocross scene. We also reminisced about the killer fast and long slaloms at Boundary Bay. Gord Cooper who used to race a Mod Toyota Sprinter was there also. Quite the surprise. It was great seeing some old friends and having some good laughs. :D

Thanks guys for a awesome job. Was happy to bring Art home for the show.

Also i barley made it home. Got into my driveway and Art shut off. Looked at her this morning and took off the air cleaner since i drained the fuel since shes been running like a tank of bad gas, and notice the phillips screw on the carb between the butterflies is COMPLETELY backed out. Thank god that didnt bounce out, so the choke was not working right at all. Screwed it back in and now shes ideling again, still a little rough. Never a trip to a car show, without a car problem right?

That was a great event - thanks to all who put it together. It was nice to see a face behind some of the Realm names.

Below are some of my pics - trying to not repeat what was already posted.

Not sure if the owner knew but the rear right Watanabe was missing a nut.

Giving Jordan some props for his Gold Dust build - that engine bay is packed! Both cars were cool. I've been following both of your build threads and was hoping to get a chance to say hi.

Here's a neat pic showing three different ways to to finish the back-end of a 510.

Here's two cars I would have liked to take home (assuming 510s were not included).

The 1600, and 2000, are so pretty buit I'm not sure why the rear track is so damn narrow compared to the front? Personally I'd throw some spacers on the back to get a nicer 'stance' while keeping the vintage wheels.

That Nissan Patrol was so damn cool. I wouldn't change a thing - including the bee stuck in the passenger vent LOL. It must be a chore to drive, it had 5 levers in the cabin!?!?!

Just wanted to reiterate how great the show was, thanks to everyone who organized. The quality of the 510s and all the other cars really is amazing, it's great to see so many awesome builds.

Apologies for nearly killing everyone with my smoky departure. Unfortunately the 2dr also blew the clutch just outside the park :-( More work to be done....

I imagine the raw gas emanating from my goon was much more offensive, no one stayed behind me for long.

Best show ever! the 2016 ajc was hands down the best show I have ever attended. organizers and officials had their game down pat, there were more corner officials than the last auto X. games for the kids, and tug a war for the big kids. Datsun Power!
thanks for all the hard work guys ! awesome show!

I just loved how many people came up and wanted to talk about Art, and were surprised to see the car back up there. Always love talking about him and hearing old stories. Always surprises some that i knew him since i was 5 years old. Miss him, he would of loved the show.
