Clasic Car Adventures - Thanksgiving Day morning drive

Post by Byron510 »

hi all,

Anyone interested in going? It's a great, short little morning event that goes rain or shine. I've been a number of times over the years.
Long term weather looks good, but I have a vehicle each for good and fair weather, so I'll be going no matter what.

The Bronze made their front page apparently, that me under the red arrow. Just talked to Paul S this morning and he's going, shown above under the green arrow in his R8 Gordini. Lots of cool stuff shows up, not matter what the weather. there was a 30's Roll Royce out in the pouring rain last year - typical of the Pacific North West spirit.

I can throw a day permit on I guess. I'll go rain or shine. Was up in Whistler a couple of weeks ago in the pouring rain. I use tires appropriate for BC weather....unlike some people.... :P

Eh... my Coker, pizza cutter 155 R13's are great in the rain; its' the only way I can drift all of Ole Blue's 60 hp :-)

But seriously, the highway is good and I've done the event twice in the rain and it doesn't seem to dampen spirits at all. That being said, sunshine is forecast for next Monday.

I'd be doing a permit as well if i take Ole Blue, but the Bronze is all geared up and rarin' to go! I took it for a drive last night just for the hell of it - to celebrate the siding being completed on the shed (YEAAAAAHHHH!)

Hope you guy can make it.

I really hope it will be dry, this will be Test #2 for my car and I may just go up to Whistler also, so that the drive back will be Test #3.

If no one from the future comes back to stop you from doing it then how bad of a decision can it really be?
