All Japanese Classic '18 - August 26th - Waterfront Park

All Japanese Classic '18 - August 27th - Waterfront Park

Announcing the All Japanese Classic Car Show at Waterfront Park in North Vancouver BC, Sunday August 26th.
Last year’s event was even more successful than our first year, with nearly 250 cars, bikes and trucks present. This year we are looking at more, and even more surprises that we'll keep under wraps.

Last year Richard tipped into merchandising as this was getting to be expected at our event as it grows. Richard will have some more of the same - only different.

The venue at Waterfront Park has worked out very well for the show, and there could hardly be in a better place to showcase the city of Vancouver. Waterfront Park is easy to find, has many facilities and a stunning view across the Burrard Inlet at the downtown City of Vancouver, and turning around we are at the base of the coastal mountains going straight up behind us. Shopping and food aplenty can be had right next door at the Lonsdale Quay, and access by Seabus across to Canada Place, Gas Town and Downtown Vancouver shops is a quick ride away. Many will recall that this park is same location that the All Nissan Meet has been held at from 1998 to 2011.

Jan 2018:

We are still in the planning stages here in early January, however the basic show will follow a similar format as last year - why mess with success!

As in years past, details will follow by spring regarding classes and the show schedule of events. But for now please mark your calendars for the All Japanese Classic Car Show - August 26th at Waterfront Park.

Aw Robyn, you have to play nice when we are all in the same sand box :-)

I certainly invite you out to our next planning meeting- throw your ideas on the table. As it was we gave out over 40 awards last year. Love to have a class for everyone individually, but realistically we do what we can. Come on out, I’ll keep you posted.

If i get the VE swapped intime and the bugs worked out, a cross country trip would be pretty cool! Would love to attend this

Sound like Dadzsun will be making the trip out from back east as well - that would be extra cool to have you both in attendance!

I’d love to have an AutoX organized on the same weekend, but I need people to run it.
The show organization is just Richard and I, it’s a lot of work to make this show happen.

Added to that, Richard also started a brand new family this year (yeah - congratulations) so his time like mine with four kids is.:.. well you work with it :-) .
If I have a couple people willing to take this AutoX suggestion on, I’ll definitely help you get it done. Jeff, for you it’s be tough because of the distance, but for anyone local who wants to take this on or can assist with the show, please do contact me.
The AJC has grown well beyond our expectations in only 2 years, and we know of even more cars now than we ever did. So it’s definitely a growing prospect which inevitably is requiring more planning and organization than ever. Richard and I have a good process down, that starts only weeks after last years show ended. Adding a second event to the weekend would just require another person to step forward. But it would be heaps of fun, I do agree.

Byron,
I guess the Spring Show is long gone. With the Renault - Nissan - Mitsubishi alliance does that qualify
Renaults to be 'somewhat" Japanese? It's so lonely not having a car show to belong to. :(

I will make an exception for your car - Show organizer, I can pull that string :-)

Seriously, bring it out because you car would attract a crowd for sure. Been a while since I've seen it.

You haven't seen this one. Got it late last year and it's begging for attention. It's a 2001
but has the vintage spirit of a 1984.

Byron, sorry for hjjacking your thread...

Thanks Keith. I have a few spares too. Gray duct tape will blend with the paint well. You know it's hit and
miss with me with all the events. Either I'm away or bitchin' about the weather.. poor excuse for an enthusiast.
I did have a hoot a few years back with the M-car at Octoberfast . The car is a lot better now, I upgraded the suspension
and gave her a good tune up. Too bad my driving skills haven't changed... this year for sure!
