You can add Jason (with Matts car recently purchased) and Glen (who doesn't like to post anything but is watching).

See you at 05:45 at Hope for a 6am departure.......I may have to start drinking coffee because of you Keith!

I was sorting some pictures out and found this in my picture files. This would have been one of the last slaloms to be held at the small course track at Boundry Bay.

I gave Jamie a call but he has his son's grad that day.

Who have we got so far for the drive:
Keith
Byron
Alveen
Cliff
Ron & Is
Dean
Norm
James ( I think)
Glen
Jason
:D That was a fun day! Thanks for the pictures Keith!

You are likely the furthest West of all of us. I will be up at 3:30 too, as I need my wake up/coffee time. Then I have to go get my car and leave by 4:30 to be at Hope by that 5:30 - 5:45.

That's ok, I'm still in early mode anyhow, my body clock has not really shifted yet since retiring.

Sorry you won't make it, hopefully my planned late summer drive on that NEW PAVEMENT will work out for you!

At the end of today I will post up schedule and maps plus other bits of info.

I am coming in the night before and staying in West Van. The google says it will be 1 h 40 min to get to the chevron so I will have to leave around 3:30 to find some coffee
If no one from the future comes back to stop you from doing it then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Weather window looks to be perfect so we are a go!

We will try to leave the Chevron at 6:00 and go DIRECTLY to the top at the Cascade Lookout for photo op.

Should a pee break be required hit the lodge before heading up, but we won't doddle at the lodge.

We will do a nice photo op in the rising sun, as we should all be on top by 7:00 - 7:15.

Next section will be to the Chevron in Princeton to rally up there and fuel up for anyone. I think I will even throw 5 gallons in and should be able to make it back to Vancouver.

Then off the Bromley Rock, which is only 15 minutes or so down the road. We will have a nice rest up and snack/brunch there, under some nice shade at the picnic tables.

We will decide if anyone needs to stop again at the Chevron in Princeton so we can convoy back as a group, nice if we all stay together for support.

I have attached maps and if there are any questions, now is the time to ask. The left turn to the lookout is OPPOSITE the Manning Lodge, or, if stopping for pee, exit lot and go straight across highway.

My distance from White Rock is 284 KM to Bromley Rock including drive to lookout. My round trip should be about 568 KM ( 353 miles ) I'm figuring on burning up about 15 gallons of Hi Test fuel at 23 mpg.

Temperature is predicted to be around 25C so like any road trip, make sure you drinks lots of fluids. I will bring some misc tools, air pump, flat tire repair, an emergency Jump start device, etc.

I hear the “new pavement”is just awesome...but that’s later, hope you all have a safe & awsome drive!

Last year we went up and hiked the ridge there , but was during the fire season so couldn’t even see the lodge from lookout.

Look forward to some pics.

The Great Rolling Dyno awaits us, hope everyone can make it. I'm ready to roll out at 4:30, should feed in at Mt.Lehman road to #1 about 5 AM. Should be at the Chevron by 5:30 too.

Finished up the 510 prep this afternoon, weather still looks to be perfect. Lets hope the smoke from the Okanagan fires does not come our way for our photo op. I cannot believe those poor people are going through that AGAIN! I lucked out last week to have a week of campfires and now no more till October 19 or we get serious rain.

The smoke should be fine west of Keremeos, a large fire started near there yesterday and we've been getting lots of ash and smoke in Osoyoos and the rest of the valley. Crazy situation in Peachland and Summerland with evacuations and highway closure.

Keith what's your eta at Bromley?

I'm going to think it will be around 10'ish to 10:30.

If we spend an hour at the lookout 7 - 8 AM, then gas stop in Princeton....hang around the park for a few hours, pictures, .......

Afraid we are going to have to bow out of this run because I have to attend a memorial service on Saturday. Hopefully the next one.

Morning Alveen,

I do not store my car at the plant any more, I retired back at the beginning of May. I will be leaving from South Surrey at about 4:15-4:30, heading out 16th to ultimately feed onto #1 at Mt.Lehman Road around 5, usually takes me 1/2 hour with no traffic on 16th.
