i just thought it would be fun to see one of these wild renderings with the old Datsun emblem Maybe a chrome version of the one he used but with "Datsun" instead of "Nissan" lettering in place of the Nissan one he put there!

How would that car not sell? Maybe once Subaru/Toyota sell out of this year's allotment of BRZ/FR-S, Nissan will figure out they might make some money filling a niche. Oh, 'cept as far as I hear, it's already too late: if you don't have money down on a BRZ, you ain't getting one this year. Oh, Nissan....?

From what I heard, Nissan is paying close attention to the success of the SubiYota thing. If they come out with a direct competitor, they're talking about another S-chassis, not a neo510 though

Gotta start somewhere, Nissan. I doubt anyone here would complain about another (competent) S-chassis to go up against the Subotas.

What you're describing certainly sounds plausible. Toyota and Subaru had eachother to help share the design costs. Nissan may not have that luxury, so multiple small, rwd platforms may be the answer. Keep our fingers crossed
