Is anyone still seeing errors? Is the site's loading speed a bit better again?

At any given time, like right now, go to the forum's upper left area and find the typical "Board Index" and click that link (http://www.the510realm.com/index.php), then scroll to the bottom of the page, look at "WHO IS ONLINE" to see who or what is accessing the site at that particular point in time...

I did that just now and took a screen shot. This is the area where you won't be listed if you decided to login as anonymous or show my status that I am offline but I am really online and hahaha nobody can see me but I am here or whatever it actually says...

Who is online as I write this?

Perfect! There is 510rob (me), plus Bing bot, Google bot, MSNbot Media, Yahoo bot. Wait, what?!?

That means there are 5 entities accessing the website; one actual humanoid (me), but FOUR different corporations' computer systems that are milking our site in order to gain metadata for their own interests. In case you were wondering, THIS IS ONE OF THE WAYS THAT "BIG DATA" IS CREATED FOLKS!!! The irony is that we pay to host the site that is then milked by corporations whose goal is profit but not community participation.

The tech support guy blocked SEMrush (look up http://www.semrush.com if you want to see what social good that they create for humanity), because we were being HAMMERED by them to milk the site for data. We refused access to one bot and suddenly the site can relax and things seem more human.

Enough for now. Chew on that until the next episode.

picture test...

nope..I have been kicked back to whatever the site allows... :(

That's really interesting Rob.. can we not block all BOTS?

That's one reason why when stores ask me for my e-mail address, I just LOOK THEM IN THE EYE, and tell them, unless I am being paid, I do not do their market research, nor to I want to get spammed with 8 million e-mails

There has to something that the host's IT team can do about this Bot issue. Other sites are not experiencing this BS!

If it comes down to it get rid of viewing the site without being a member. Just have everyone sign up. It's not as if it costs anything to be a member.

Rob, I did get the resource message once yesterday again - but just once in 30 minutes.

Agreed, is there a way to block this usage, it t ally does seem unnessesary to me.does this usage of bots really asssist us in any way? Bing, Google, Yahoo and MSN bots always seem to be there.

Morning World,

Like Byron, I got the message also, and at times over the last 3 days, have found pages slow to load. Same if I do a post, it will take some time for the site to accept the post after hitting the submit button.

I only have that issue with this site. I never did hear from Spencer, maybe he is away on holidays or the e-mail address I have is invalid ( has not been returned ).

I have been getting a lots of "resource limit reached" and slow loading. I'm all for blocking all the bots.
If no one from the future comes back to stop you from doing it then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Just today. I wasn't able to get on for several hours.
