What seats will fit a 510?

Post by mrmarkus » 24 Jun 2004 17:03

My seats are toast. What are some easy swaps that i can do? I head honda civic seats are almost a direct bolt in. I'm looking for something that i can find to bolt in with little or no modification. What options do i have? thanks.

Stock 510 seats fit best. 240z seats fit also but you have to elongate the holes a lil bit then it fits fine. I've got Sentra GXE coupe seats with no seat rail dealies so the P/O just made four (Very pour) brackets for each of the back.

I haven't dealt with Honduh seats besides some integra ones. Lil bit of mods but it's all pretty basic once you have them sitting there, you just kinda mix and match stuff to fit up.

To mount any Honda seat, total re-fabrication of everything to do with the mounting system need to be changed. I've done this 5 times using Civic SI, CRX and Prelude seats. They are all a pain in the butt, but the early 90's Civic SI seats were the easiest of the bunch.
The easiest seats that I’ve mounted in the last few years came out of mid 90’s Talon/Eclipse and the Chrysler derivatives. I’ve done these twice.
Just as a side note, I've heard some people write in and say that mounting the seats was easy... then I saw their mounting job, and I wouldn't be caught driving that car!

Whats I would do is find a seat that you like, one that is comfortable and make it fit nice take your time do take the easy way out and buy honda seats find a seat that you will like in the cae and that you find comfortale and put those in try to do a seat that no one had ever done before like use a camaro seat or something like that. Just my 2 cents.

I mounted prelude seats in my car.. I drilled 3 holes for each seat and they bolted to the stock mounting brackets..... I used Geo Metro seats in my wagon.

Were those metro seats in a orange wagon?

My thoughts exactly. I have seen poorly installed seats such that
under hard braking they actually lift off and move. Remember
you are trusting your life with your seats and seat belts. No one
wants to go head first into a windshield or flip backwards and lose
total control of the car.

In australia it isn't legal to swap seats without getting them engineered. they seem to have really strict rules and from the sounds of it the constabulary are really well appointed at picking out modifications. check out ozdat forums, it's great reading!
I'm smiling because I have no idea what is going on.

Heh.
I've never played Loan-a-fender before. I should try that.
Think a '56 Chevy fender'll fit my 510?
