Gas Mileage

Post by watts510 » 07 Jul 2004 12:48

What do you guys consider good gas mileage for your dimes? I spoke to a guy with an SR on his dime and he says he gets over 30 mpg with his relatively stock setup. What do you guys think.. This is his car

I think with my L16 I calculated it to be about 23mpg. I haven't had a chance to calculate it with the V6...

I adapted an 83 200SX EFI set up to a Frankenstein LZ22 a number of years ago, and on a trip to Shasta recorded 28mpg through Oregon. On the flip side, another LZ22 with a very mild cam, running twin Dellorto 40's (32mm chokes) in my rally car once measured 9mpg on a long stage section. That's the best and worst of all my many cars over the years.

28 in an LZ22! Nice! I have that same FI on my Mild Z22E. 420 lift 260 duration cam. Bigger throttle body, higher CR slightly, and 40 over.

Hopefully I'll get the same next Thursday! (Shasta '04)

I get about 23-25 MPG. I get about 8MPG on the methonol tank, depending on how long the throttle has been at 12+PSI boost.

Well, back from Shasta, what a blast! I am guessing roughly between 22-28mpg. My gearing is crap! 5th gear at 3K is 60mph confirmed by a CHP radar box.
