Engine info for NapZ engine and L20 head ?

Post by GrahamBCZ »

I am more of a 240 person but I recently picked up a very clean 510. The previous owner was in the process of building a NapZ engine with a L20 head. I am very familliar with all the L series engines but not the NapZ. The engine itself is very similiar to the L series block. I need info on the do's and don'ts of this engine and head combo. Are all the torque specs the same for the NapZ ? Any websites or info would be great !

Actually, what is the rod end torque and bearing torque? Now that I've dissasembled the thing ? Are they the same as for an L20?

YOu'd have to figure they'd be close...But if you want to be sure you could by a haynes or similar manual for an appropriate vintage 200sx.
Good luck!

Hey, why don't you scan some of the tables in the Haynes/Chilton book, and post them under the TECH section in the gallery? I did a few scans with one of the L-series motor manuals.

Scan the diagrams if you can, if it has a wiring diagram it'd be awesome!!!

Besides, who all look up this site for copyright infringment.

They'll warn you and give you an utlimatum. If you don't comply, they can file suit. At least it's like that in the US.

Drats!!!
Damn! Wish you could find a way to get them..
-pokes Spencer- Don't you have shop manuals availiable?

If somebody would scan some things it'd be great! I mean, it's an enthusiast site. At least scan them and keep them ready to send to somebody that aks for them, or something to that effect...

why donesn't everyone who doesn't have atleast manual run our and buy it....right now....go....run along....shew....go!

they're filled with wonderful useful information!

I have atleast 5. Couple for the PL510, one for a HL510, a 280ZX, the Hot to Modify, How to Hot Rod and Race, a Chiltons for like everything in '83, two on Webers....

and they're faster than asking a question on the forum and waiting for one of us to look in ours....
